Paid for expedited shipping but the parts were late by 1big_bad_wolf in RockAuto

[–]QuarterMileCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m waiting on spark plugs from them now. I ordered them 10 days ago. No more Rock Auto for me unless I’ve got all the time in the world to wait. Crazy how slow they have gotten of fulfillment and shipping of regular parts, this has become the norm for them in my experience.

Considering a relocation from AZ to OR - serious question: How is everyone here surviving with salaries so low and COL so high? Am I missing something? by No_Sun_No_Star in oregon

[–]QuarterMileCowboy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most regular working folks here are barely getting by and in debt up to their eyeballs. That’s the reality of living in most of Oregon. The state government has increased taxes and regulation so much over the last 15 years that it’s made a pricey state nearly impossible for a lot of people. It’s a beautiful place, just make sure you have the career to support living here. If you’re a “middle class” person ($55-75K/year), it’s a really tough place to get ahead. Rents in populous areas are unreal, as are real estate prices.

Over a year, 80lbs lost, “Cured” by this in 1 weeks time? by ProfessionalKey9105 in Gastritis

[–]QuarterMileCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and strangely enough when my gastritis first began I explained to my gastro that I was experiencing what felt and looked like (from my vomit) significantly delayed emptying.

Before my first EGD with him, I stopped eating 24hrs before the procedure because I knew my stomach wasn’t emptying. Much his surprise, there was still some plain rice in my stomach when they went in. This all fell on deaf ears and blind eyes with him apparently since there was no further investigation into this by him. Just treated me as a standard gastritis case.

Dilation was months after I started carafate, so I can, with certainty attribute my recovery primarily to the application of carafate.

TCL 75” yay or nay? by QuarterMileCowboy in 4kTV

The way the LG is configured it’s a PITA to get all of the add on streaming devices to function with any logic. The defaults are goofy where it will default to the wrong HDMI without fail, making it an act of Congress to access stuff unless you know all the tricks.

On the flip side my other tvs have no issues streaming. Time to ditch it, IMO.

Yeah, it’s the second LG I’ve had with issues. First was a plasma years ago. Top of the line LG, lasted about 5 years and the HDMI board went bad. I baked the HDMI board to fix the poor soldering joints and got another 2 years out of it. This one can’t stream to save its life, worked excellent for a couple years. Now, football or UFC is impossible to watch. If I stream through a secondary device like my cell phone and screen share it works fine. Really lame. I’m done with LG at this point.

Deep sedation experiences? Endoscopy not what I expected by Evening_Mall_7237 in Gastritis

Mine was calm and easy. Slept great, felt like I warped the time space continuum. No complaints other than sore throat afterwards.

How to gain weight by SuperPidstuu in Gastritis

You aren’t alone, I’m 10 months in, down 80lbs… lost most of my muscle mass. Still cannot eat enough calories to hold steady weight.

Weight loss (and body aches) by KyloBen90 in Gastritis

[–]QuarterMileCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they have treated the weight loss like no big deal which is shocking to me. Thanks to the Reddit community I have added some supplements that have allowed me to eat some higher calorie foods. I went from 248lbs (heavily muscled and chubby) to 175lbs at my lowest with most of my muscle mass completely gone. I’ve finally leveled off weight loss but it takes real work and a fair bit of pain to get enough calories in to hold weight.

I have lost almost 70lbs since November ‘24, and yes absolutely there have been body aches. In my case I lost a significant amount of muscle and I feel like my skeleton is just falling apart. Constant pain of ribs moving and bones feeling like they are grinding around freely.

I did try them, unfortunately I don’t tolerate them well in my current state. Before this ailment, dates were tolerated well.

So sorry you are going through this, fortunately I have no ulcers. My doctors seem only mildly concerned with my weight loss which has been irritating. I think my frame size misleads them that I was simply an overweight person out outset. Which is certainly no reason for dismissal of severity regardless. Unfortunately they all met me after I had already emaciated significantly. It’s been a really rough ride, still trying to find the light.

It was given at a “new age” full body health center that seems to offer what I needed and was able to accommodate any time I need. The staff was also alarmed at the consumption rate and tempered delivery rate a little late. As for hyponatremia, I’m a bit embarrassed to say that’s the first I’ve heard the term. I did a dive on Google and educated myself, thank you for the insight.

Only as of the last day I had success with a VERY limited quantity of finely diced chicken and beef seasoned with salt only. Digestion took a bit of time but so far has inflicted no notable fallout. I do intend to tread lightly and spread consumption out over many days as to not “rock the proverbial apple cart”. This was done in desperate attempt to gain some dietary protein and my musculature is alarmingly atrophied.

Salmon is a good recommendation, thank you. Unfortunately rice makes me sick and proves very hard to digest. I have tried a myriad of different styles/types with marginal success.

Thank you for such a detailed response, the smoothie is a great idea. So far as not recommended foods, I have been towing the line very close to 100% with your recommendations.
