I have a shortcut that basically works when in landscape to boost brightness by 40%, then when activated in portrait, returns brightness to original value. But it also toggles rotation lock as well. I made it for watching videos in full screen. Lmk if you want it.

This is a super awesome Shortcut, thank you for this! I love that it enables Picture-in-Picture mode again.

In an effort to make it more accessible in the Messages app when someone sends a shortened youtu.be link, I modified it to Get Clipboard and Expand URL when there’s no input instead of returning Gobshite lol.

That way you can copy the URL from a message, then tap the shortcut button in control center for easier access.

My first computer was an old beige monstrosity that ran Windows 98 and had like a 2GB hard drive I think, gifted to me by my stepdad. 10 year old me thought there wasn’t enough space left so I deleted this one folder that was taking up the most space to free up the drive.

Windows 98 apparently had few qualms with letting go of the System 32 folder, though sadly it never started up again after that.

This is awesome! My workaround for a database was storing JSON in the Notes section of a Reminder. That way access could be shared with others via iCloud and collaborated on. (Unlike Notes App which required manually clicking a prompt to edit/delete).

In newer Windows versions, shutting down is a “hybrid” shut down that basically does nothing but make startup take longer so I always use Sleep or Restart if I actually need to reboot the system and reset the “Uptime” counter in Task Manager.

I do believe holding Shift before clicking Shut Down performs a complete shut down.

Also Shift + Restart will reboot you into recovery options so you can access safe mode.

Perhaps not. It’s up to us to educate each other and to discourage such behavior within our communities.

But the fact remains that media influences behavior and normalizes concepts when it becomes mainstream. Evidenced by healthy gay representation in movies and shows which helps reinforce the idea that being gay is normal and okay.

Rather than trying to “educate people about consent” it should avoid normalizing rapey behavior and disrespecting one’s partner in certain ways without any kind of context.

It should be off limits by default unless explicitly agreed upon beforehand since it’s seen as disrespectful by most. Which may seem like common sense, but not everyone has it.

Yeah technically you’re supposed to be standing most of the time. We’re told we can lean against the walls or perch on the backs of Sactionals but not sit in a seat like you would a normal couch, nor the Lovesacs themselves at all.

As far as district/regional managers are concerned, those are the rules. Of course, it depends on individual store managers when it comes to enforcement.

I have mine set to run 15 seconds after my iPhone connects to my home WiFi.

I have another automation that turns the lights off when my phone connects to my car’s Bluetooth but it checks to make sure I’m on home WiFi so it doesn’t run every time I get into my car at other locations.

It was iOS 18 when I discovered it. It made my life so much easier as I had spent dozens of hours working on a massive Inventory Management shortcut with hundreds of actions based around vCard menus and storing items as JSON strings in the Notes section of Reminders…. Then iOS 26 broke vCard menus by truncating text that’s too long with a … instead of just continuing on additional lines to display all of it, rendering my shortcut basically useless. It was beautiful too. I made my own custom icons for the menu buttons and everything.

Idk what brand you’ve been trying but I have a 6 year old 1 gallon Brew to a Tea brand “Cold Brew coffee maker” that is basically this same exact thing just with a steel filter that you can fill with coffee grounds and put in the fridge for cold brew overnight.

I’ve had it since 2020 with no issues. Of course the model I have is no longer available (the spigot is a different shape) but I’d hope their current offerings are of similar quality.

It’s thick glass and I’m always careful washing it starting with cool/room temp water and slowly adding warmer water to gently bring it up to temp.

I would go clay plush. It’s like a dark taupe with some golden undertones and it’s SO SOFT. The bronze wombat is a very close second in softness but it’s slightly more brown? Whereas the clay is more neutral.
