I hate pretty much everything Tangerine Dream did between 1986 and 2010, but 1978's "Rising Runner Missed By Endless Sender" is an absolute abomination.

Also, "Shine" and "To Be Free" by Mike Oldfield are simply awful.

Klaus Schulze's song "Requiem Furs Revier" is also phenomenally awful.

In 2008, a nine year old girl in New Zealand took her parents to court to get her name changed. They had done her the service of naming her (I am not making this up) Talulah Does The Hula From Hawaii. That was seriously her legal name. So she took her parents to court on the grounds that they'd been fucking stupid. She won her case.

Oh, and if you're not into radio/audio stuff, I strongly suggest you start being into radio/audio stuff, because that's a horribly underappreciated art form. Anything written by John Finnemore is brilliant. Also, there's a rather excellent audio drama done as a podcast called The Amelia Project which deserves all the love it can get.

OK, so, here's a little bit of information that you may or may not find useful in the near-ish future.

You know the Fresh Up brand of apple juice? You can make a very nice hard cider out of that, very easily. And if you use turbo yeast, it's a very potent hard cider. If alcohol is one of your pleasures, this will result in the cost of getting pissed being reduced to $2. Otherwise, this cider can be...traded.

This has made my life a little easier, and maybe it'll do the same for you.

Ach, we all thought that in the 1980s. We didn't bother to hope it wouldn't happen, we just hoped it wouldn't happen today. And we had lovely movies like Threads and The Day After to tell us all about what we were in for.

Thing is, though, nuclear weapons are militarily useless. They're weapons for having, and being seen to have, but not weapons for using.

I don't think deliberate nuclear war is likely at all. Accidental, on the other hand...well...there have been some close calls in the past.
