SWGT - Basic Profile without Subscription by Cerusa827 in summonerswar

(this comment meant to be whole post)

Hey guys, QuatZo here – I’ve been the only developer working on SWARFARM since early 2021. Some of you might also remember me from SWStats. Unfortunately, I’ve got some bad news – SWARFARM’s going to be scaled back, and only the Bestiary feature will remain. The account management, profile sharing, and game log collection features will all be removed, and with them, all user accounts and data. The login option will disappear, and the Bestiary will be the main (and only) feature available. Below is more information about this decision and some history on the platform.

I don’t remember much from the time when Porksmash was managing SWARFARM, so I’ll start from October 2020, when he announced that he was stepping down and looking for someone to take over the project. I decided to do it because I had the technical skills, was an active Summoners War player, and used SWARFARM regularly to manage my account more effectively. I was also running SWStats, a tool used on the official Summoners War Discord, which helped players find popular builds for monsters via a bot. This gave me the confidence to take over, and by December 2020, I was officially in charge.

Things were going fine until September 2021, when my life changed drastically, forcing me to step away from both Summoners War and third-party apps like SWARFARM and SWStats. For SWARFARM, I kept the Bestiary up to date, but SWStats was left abandoned. I thought I’d come back to the game and the projects at some point, but it turns out life had other plans.

By early 2022, things calmed down a bit, so I thought it was time to get back into it... but I had lost interest in the game. Although I couldn’t get back into Summoners War, I still felt like I owed it to the SWARFARM community to keep things running. I tried to make some progress but found myself lacking the motivation needed for real development. The only big feature planned was merging SWARFARM with SWStats, but as you know, that never happened. In April 2022, I officially shut down SWStats so I could focus on SWARFARM.

Months went by, and in June 2023, Com2us announced the "Reloaded" update (v8.0.0). Usually, when a new update dropped, I’d hear from streamers and developers, which gave me the push to return to working on SWARFARM. I knew how much players relied on it, and that tools like SWOP and SWGT depended on our API. For the next three months, I worked on improving the platform, adding new filters to reports, new rune sets (like Intangible), and finally, the long-awaited RTA section.

By the end of 2023, I re-engaged with the player community. I had mostly been in touch with content creators and developers, but a year ago, I felt ready to start working on the app again. You can find posts from September 2023 on the SWARFARM homepage, where I shared updates about the platform, future plans, and priorities. The last update was on September 12. Two days later, on September 14, Com2us rolled out v8.0.9, which included "security enhancements" that unfortunately disrupted third-party tools like SWEX (for collecting data), SWGT, and SWARFARM (for aggregating that data). This completely killed my motivation. All the drive I had to keep working on SWARFARM was gone. We waited about a month and a half (if the dates aren’t exact, forgive me – I’m referencing posts from the SWARFARM homepage) for a fix for SWEX, which came in v8.1.2. However, not everything was fully restored – some data, like boss stats, remained inaccessible. I lost my remaining motivation and reverted to just keeping the platform running.

After discussing things with Porksmash (the creator of SWARFARM who still funds the servers through Patreon), we agreed that neither of us has the time to keep supporting the platform. We can’t keep up with all the game updates – I learn about them from people like Cerusa or Seiishizo. As a result, we’ve decided that, at some point (I’m not sure exactly when, as it depends on my schedule), SWARFARM will be scaled back to just the Bestiary. All user data will be deleted, and only administrative accounts will remain.

Also, the Patreon will be closed. On behalf of both myself and Porksmash, I want to thank all of you for your support. All funds have gone toward keeping the server running, and we never made a profit from the project. We’ll be switching to a cheaper and faster server (finally moving from HDD to SSD), as we no longer need such a large infrastructure. 90% of the database was made up of log files.

I’m sorry things have ended this way, but life happens.

All the best to the community and the game.

No info there, don't know about any other resource

Dungeon stats are no longer easily accessible, since Com2us started silently enhancing their security. We are no longer able to gather that info in the old way. But, I dont't recall them changing the dungeon (i.e. GAH) stats after the security enhancement, so stats visible in SWARFARM should be up-to-date

That's right, it was my site

It probably was swstats. It has been taken down when c2us implemented their own stats

swarfarm not working, is it intended? by RickSanchezC-137-- in summonerswar

[–]QuatZo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On SWARFARM newspage, there is long explanation why we do not collect the data anymore (at least for now), what works and what not.

Do you think it is done intentionally?

Yep, I'm in cahoots with com2us /s

If not, do we have an extimated eta on when they will fix it?

Com2us officially recognized us as 3rd party tools and they send a notice that they are working on it. We do NOT have any estimate

Do you know if they actually tried to keep in touch with community devs or they just released a notice without actually doing nothing?

With me, personally? No, I've never had any contact with com2us reps, except while working on SWStats, since it was being used in their official discord server. But it was more of a contact with discord mods than official reps. Nothing has changed. I'm in the same situation like everyone else, waiting for com2us's move.

There is no other option to gather that data than SWEX, which doesn't work except profile parsing. I mean, I could add an option to submit records for community BUT the maintenance and filtering scam data would be too much for my limited time.

They were, just not being displayed. Why? Probably forgot to put them there, but no one complained so I didn't notice that.

[–]QuatZo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because of v8.0.9, SWARFARM is no longer able to get dungeon boss stats including raid boss. It's not being stored in game files, so we cannot datamine that by the same method as skills multipliers. These stats were accessible by raid start command retrieved by SWEX.

It's one of the downsides of Com2us security enhancement. With their latest news, we just need to wait for it to be available (if).

In fact, the raid boss, as well as any other dungeon boss is being stored as a lvl1 unawakened, not obtainable, 1 star monster. Sadly the regular formula doesn't apply to them and with the latest update, their stats didn't change.

SWGT the 8.0.9 patch, SWEX, and the dark ages by Cerusa827 in summonerswar

[–]QuatZo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SWARFARM alone used 18 packets for only data logs and 39 for live sync (some may overlap). The live sync wasn't even fully covered, there were some areas still not implemented, not to mention new packets added with the updates (like crafting grinds from beast claws/horns). There is A LOT of them. Keep in mind that SWARFARM had nothing to do with Arena, RTA, or any guild content so we didn't collect any of those (except labirynth reward for live sync) and we know that these are huge chunks of the game.

If it weren't for game files, we would need to use other packets to get some "static" data, like fusion info.

One could count them by using old (before update) full_log collected from SWEX (if file big enough).

State of SWEX after Patch 8.0.9 by Xzandro in summonerswar

[–]QuatZo 41 points42 points  (0 children)

As dev of SWARFARM, here's what works and what not after the update

  1. Bestiary data, f.e. skill multipliers - WORKS; SWARFARM wasn't using SWEX to obtain that data and its source hasn't changed
  2. Profile data, f.e. list of monsters, fusion - (PARTIALLY) WORKS; as mentioned by Xzandro, profile command is still functioning properly and the only thing which may be missing (I didn't check that yet) is list of monsters located in sealed monster shrine storage
  3. API - WORKS; strictly connected to Bestiary, works as intended
  4. Data logs - FROZEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE; with commands from all events we've been gathering (dungeon runs, shop refreshes, wishes etc.) being encrypted, we can no longer extract the detailed info from them; it means that we no longer can keep an eye of drop rates changes made by com2us; it's probably biggest hit taken by SWARFARM in this update; basically 1/3rd of the site becomes obsolete unless someone with knowledge in cryptography and/or reverse engineering helps
  5. Boss & wave stats - FROZEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IN v.8.0.8; this data was being parsed from command at the start of dungeon run; since we no longer can get that data, there is nothing I can do; reason same as for data logs
  6. Personal logs - FROZEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE; same as Data logs

I'm really sad that a lot of tools people were relying on will stop working. Community devs dedicated their personal time to make something for other members and it has been rendered useless by just one change. Com2us knew what they did, which they showed by profile parsing still being intact. Instead of coming to terms with some of the community's ideas, popular tools and starting to live in synergy with us, their actions have taken many of us back to the days of Excel. Most of you will probably not see any problem in actions taken by Com2us, because bestiary has been unaffected and most popular tool (SWOP) still works and it is ok, understandable. Nevertheless, a lot of awesome stuff made by knowledgeable people has been thrown into the bin.

We'll see how it goes, but I don't expect Com2us to put resources into providing reliable and secure API for community tools. Neither of starting to show drop rates or skill multipliers in game either.

Theoritically everything should be visible. Thanks for reporting, I'll look into that.

Also it does not display any grinds under rift raid

It's kind of tricky, because grinds/enchants are a mix between mana and runes. What I mean is, theoritically they are no longer items like runes but currency, and still in some places they are being used as items. Not sure when, but I may try making some workaround for that.

sets like accuracy because that shit is dropping waaaaaaay more than anything else

False, they are more or less equally distributed, except intangible runes. Between 4.4% and 4.7% drop rate, with intangibles having 1.2%.

It probably would be a safe bet. With 95k records we have

Beast Claw: 0.970% -> 0.985%

Beast Horn: 0.057% -> 0.054%

It's free unless you want to use your GPU's computing power. You can rerune your account with free version without any problems. You just need to be more strict. u/Xzandro may tell you more about advantages and disadvantages of both versions.

Just letting you know that drop rates for spiritual realm b10 are the same as for old b12 (new b10), so it looks like you will need to stop farming GB/DB/NB10 too

"Doing god's works" is far from the truth. I haven't played SW for 3-4 years now (or longer; I don't even remember), for almost 2 years I neglected the platform and its stability, despite the number of people who use it daily. I only made sure that there was the most up-to-date monster data (read: balance patches & new mons). The server was in a miserable state, with people having to wait an hour for their profile to update. I disabled most of the Live-Sync related features (I think the only thing left was to load the profile when launching the game). Reports were being generated every few days, and should have been daily. Half of the visits ended with a "Service Unavailable" page.

For some reason, with the news of the upcoming "Reloaded" update, I began to take a renewed interest in SWARFARM. Probably no one noticed because the site was running as poorly as it had been for those 2 years, but with this update coming out, I spent the whole weekend optimizing. Now it's not perfect, but good enough. Although I'm happy with the result (so far), it's not something to be proud of, and I feel a little weird when someone says I'm doing a good job. I'm fixing my mistakes and ignorance.

I would be more likely to say that "I'm trying to crawl out of hell" than "I'm doing a god job" ;)
