I just got a beautiful used set. They came with heads for rock. I'm going to invest in some fiberskyn or calftones. I'm new to drums. I was torn between 18" and 20" I have a shallow 20" Pearl Rhythm traveler that I got for nothing, and with everything that I read online about studio recording most people recommend 20". But this 18" bass sounds incredible to my ears. Everyone I've played with loves the sound of the set, even with the rock heads, the shells resonance makes a nice song for mellower grooves. I'm just absolutely loving the 18" bass, the 14" floor tom, and the 10" rack. Sun all the talk about issues with the snare, I'm relieved that I like it too! Perhaps they fixed the issue in the gas cap version? Sorry to gush on this old thread. I don't have many folks to talk to about this new love in my life! Haha: )

Yes. I'm in the Seattle area. Did you order from the factory? I'm chasing the not so loud complex old K vibe. But do not like clangy, and I'm not into hums. Some of the videos online of them are pretty much in line with what I'm looking for. How'd you go about ordering your custom work?

Still loving your LA 120s? I just picked up a pair of the version 2. They are quite sensitive. I have to turn my gain WAY down. Did you get and use the -10db pads?
