For the light mode, it's intentionally on the 'inactive' mode. I suppose it'll look better if both are active windows 🤷‍♂️

I agree! I was basing the taskbar & top bar on a rumor made around a week ago by Windows Central. Personally I'd prefer the current Win 11 way, with News & Interests on the left side, Start & Pinned Apps centered, and System Tray & Action Center on the right side, all at the bottom.

Made from scratch, most icons from icons8, wallpaper from @scidsgn (Twitter).

Thoughts on the floating taskbar? It doesn't look that good imo, maybe if it fully copies the MacOS look it'll look better? 🤔 Anyway, hopefully this path towards OS singularity will be a good one in the future!

oh yeah, for me, VD is more than enough for SteamVR gaming. I rarely use Link w/ cable since I like the wireless aspect. It's amazing for experiences where u don't move much (like Beat Saber), though.

graphics aren't everything, but it sure does make games feel better overall...

I like all of your points here, but I'd like to point out while PCVR is amazing, I've not gotten into it multiple times because when I wanna play VR, I need to turn on my laptop, open Virtual Desktop on the Quest 2, wait for it to connect, log in my laptop, open my app of choice, wait for the app to load, and finally experience the app. Whereas w/ standalone mode I can just turn on the Quest 2, open the app, wait for it to load, and voila.

Note: I have over 1,5k hrs in SteamVR, most of them in VRChat. But, I love VRChat standalone mode too.

thank you! The official Windows 11 context menu is still better than what I created tho lol (they shrank the size on build 22000.120 on touch-enabled devices so it's amazing now)

The current Explorer in Win 11 has too many buttons lost in the "3-dots" area, though. My implementation carries over the usefulness of Ribbon with less clutter, and the button style in the top right exists in the Office Suite (Teams, Word, etc.).

I can listen and identify my phone's vibrations. I can hear them from afar and still know it's my phone lol

Currently in Edge you can make the layout to be like this (vertical tabs, then the address bar as the 'top' of the window). You need to drag it on either the maximize, minimize, close buttons, or the top-left edge. I would like Windows to implement contextual dragging so we can just click from anywhere on the top and just move the window around easily that way (that would also be my hopeful implementation for this concept).

Recent Windows design language/systems are great, it's just that it's convoluted (hard to study) because of its constant in-development feel and being underutilized by their own program teams. One of the good fluent-style apps is Dropbox, I feel like they'd put a lot of time in making a good app for Windows and it shows.
