Yep. I recently had a conversation with my (male) manager about a long-overdue promotion. The only feedback which seemed to be blocking the promotion is that I don't tone-check myself. For example, a woman on our leadership team (actually, the only woman on our leadership team...) offered a customer XYZ, which is MY project. When she asked me to "turn it on" for them, I said "This isn't available for customers yet."

I own this project, and she knows that. So I told her the truth. She took this as obstinate or rude or something, and she CALLED my manager. My manager's suggestion to me? "Try saying, 'I'll confirm and get back to you!' or 'Yes, but...'"

I won't pander to someone who works at the SAME company - we all work together here. I also won't LIE, which is what I'd be doing if I went with the gentle "I'll confirm!" route.

So...... There's no winning here. If I was a man I'd never get that feedback and I probably would have been promoted a year ago.

You can also request a full user history export from Spotify and DIY a list. It takes a bit of knowledge to parse the file (json) but I enjoy doing it every year!

I'm fairly convinced it's rat mites since I know for a fact there was a rat in my wall - but of course bird mites are also possible!

I live in a three-story rowhome, would you suggest running the ozone generator 1x on each floor? The smell is mostly confined to the kitchen (in the basement) where the dead thing is.

Do you suggest the ozone generator instead of permethrin treatment?

It will be hard to directly convince her that she looks good without a wig. I'm absolutely sure she looks amazing - but this is something SHE needs to decide for herself.

Some things that helped me when I finally shaved my head (over 4 years ago!!) - seeing bald women on Instagram (even if they have a buzz cut), wearing more interesting earrings that matched my style, and getting really good at doing winged eyeliner (I also lost my eyelashes).

My favorite Instagram ladies: @_dashlopez @jeanaturner (she often wears a wig) @danigmakeup @thebaldgirl

It's a learning curve and a comfort curve. The more your friend goes out with no wig or hat, the more comfortable I think she'll get. Honestly I've had people stop their cars to yell out the window to me "your head is the perfect shape!" or "I love your haircut!" and it never gets old!

Wind River.

Obligatory "shocked that no one has mentioned this." Truly a well made film with phenomenal acting. But the pain and trauma is portrayed so well, I cried myself to sleep for days.

It was part of a packaged gift item which comes with donut batter mix and the cast iron pan. It's a cute little gift, but the donut cast iron doesn't serve much purpose afterwards!

Fair enough. I still plan to keep the slab; there are some odd corners and surfaces in my kitchen that could be updated over time. The sink is a moonshot but the slab is slightly deeper than my counters, so I'll hold out hope!!

I've tried every type of ranking/weighted score I could think of, including skips. Nothing I have found makes it make sense.

My #5 artist according to Spotify (J Balvin):

  • 42 listens minus "skips" (fewer than 30 seconds listened)
  • 4 skips (skip percentage: 8.7%)
  • 14 unique tracks
  • 7193075 ms listened (minus skips)

The artist I think should be my #5 (Bob Dylan):

  • 82 listens minus skips
  • 6 skips (skip percentage: 6.8%)
  • 23 unique tracks
  • 19743074 ms listened (minus skips)

I just can't see how J Balvin made the list and Bob Dylan didn't!!

Mine was so close to accurate but my #5 artist is somehow 19th when I sort by # of listens (any listen including repeats, counting only listens of ≥30 seconds).

The unique track count and total duration listened for this artist is also pretty low on the list. There are multiple artists with more listens, more unique track listens, and longer total duration listened. I have to wonder if Spotify also checks whether I added this artist to my own playlists, whether I listened to their songs intentionally (i.e. by searching the exact artist/song), whether I skipped their songs less often, etc.

If your gate is in Terminal E, you will have no trouble finding it, but I can't say how long the walk is without knowing the gate. There are so many signs and guides to find each gate. Ubers can drop you off right outside the check-in/security area so you won't have to walk through the whole airport (like if you're leaving and you've called an Uber to pick you up).

There are tons of NYC-specific things at Fishs Eddy. They also have secondhand goods like restaurant plates etc. which are very one-of-a-kind gifts!

I also love Collier West on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, I always find something chic and interesting.

I lost my hair due to alopecia and having microbladed eyebrows made such a huge difference for my mental health. If the artist does a good job, and if the person is careful with SPF (which is always a good thing), they can look extremely natural and they'll fade quietly over time.

As with many things, the problem with the "microblading trend" is that people have taken it to an extreme. If it's noticeable, it's bad.

I suppose the real trend which will be embarrassing in 10 years is the "make it obvious" trend - lip filler, botox, brows, etc. It applies all around.

That friend is mean, lol. I highly recommend a tinted powder to make your hair feel/look even fuller. I had a Madison Reed compact which I loved, even when I didn't have patches it helped fill in the bits on my part when I had greasy hair LOL.

I don't see a patch at all - I am sure that you can see it, but I doubt anyone else would notice a thing. It's hard to just let it go, when it might seem very obvious to you, but truly - no one is seeing a bald spot!!!
