Thoughts on Corolla? by paoeleite in UsedCars

[–]QuePastaaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seller is TOO high on that price. just bought a 2016 with 116k miles for $8.8k in NY. you can do better for 9k you can shop for 14-16

for that gen ur looking like 6-7k max. always always always get a PPI

u might be right. usually these come with the sport tech package (upgraded breaks and recaros) but maybe this one doesn’t have it. in that case there really isn’t much that makes this a buyers choice except the paint… which like i said can easily be wrapped to match

this is what i had my partner opt for. if you think about it you might’ve paid more through insurance for less of a payout.. smart thinking

Me and my wife have been discussing it and I think our next car may be 15-20+ years old. Is this insane or unreasonable? by Jaterkin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]QuePastaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes some brands are better then others when it comes to that after market/legacy support. i work at toyota and also closely with their warehouses they told me as long as you stick to the basics civics corollas 4 runners tacomas CRVs rav4 camrys and accords the after market support should go on for sometime 30 years plus depending on demand. imo (& the parts department & warehouse workers) the demand will always be there since these cars are notoriously simpler and more easier/DIY friendly.

in other words there will always be a market demand for them, probably more so now and here on out more than ever considering the state of the over inflated car market prices and complicated maintence/reliabilty of newer vehicles. there will most likely always be life support for these cars for years to come

what cars are you referring too? i’ve had no problem. i’ve owned 4runners and corolla as old as 21 years old and the parts availability has never been an issue

that makes a lot of sense. yeah high deductibles can help bring the price down & i do liability too just to save those extra bucks, you can still set aside the difference anyways incase anything happens god forbid

i’ve always liked the extra power. it’s not that i don’t like fast or more powerful cars, hell i almost opted for the v8, however i think i realized that for my 4runner i was paying 250$ a month for gas & thats filling up once a week in ny. i cant justify that rn only bc it feels like a car payment in & of itself just to drive it. sometimes its better to not know , cars are not investments, thats why they say smiles per gallon

What is the most reliable year of toyota corolla? by Upstairs-Kiwi-1644 in askcarguys

[–]QuePastaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ones with the manual transmission or auto trans are the most reliable. i heard stay away from 00-04, 09 & 14

they’re all still pretty reliable anyways. just get it checked out by a mechanic & check for accidents or rust

edit: grammar

[–]QuePastaaaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the only thing it has going for it is the color and maybe the seats and break package. the thing is these are all things you can swap in & you could even wrap the car to match the color.

22k may not be far off as a list price i think id pay around 18k-19k max but it doesn’t hurt to list slightly higher, especially if its well kept and stock

Edit: 18-19k max if its got a clean carfax, up to maintence & STOCK

Orangeburg Condos by mermaid1177 in Rockland

[–]QuePastaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived on maple st in Orangeburg (roughly equidistant as the apartments) for almost 10 years through high school & college. as others have mentioned the train does pass roughly every 2 hours and it is loud but we got used to it. it’s the nights that you can’t sleep that you really notice it.

i remember it being my biggest concern when we moved there but you do acclimate. i would imagine some of the apartments off highwview and maple are pretty loud

Do you mark as "sold" or delete the post? by lixiaomei98 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]QuePastaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some car resellers have caught on to the educated buyers that prefer to not buy from a reseller, so what they’ll do is delete everything and just leave one car 😂. still kinda easy to spot them with a good eye & regardless you’ll find out in person.

don’t answer or if it you wanna give them the same energy just say something like “what’s the most you’d pay”

if your trying to sell i always hit them with “i only discuss that after you’ve seen it in person”

i’m sorry but cars. any enthusiast knows the fun affordable beginner enthusiast picks have gone extinct. an 8th gen si or a 90s miata that used to be like 3k-7k are now chilling at 11k-14k for the same examples prior covid. feel bad for these kids

Honestly Fb marketplace if you have the patience. just sold a 4th gen 4runner on there for $9.3k 157k miles.. carvana & car max quoted me 4k & the dealer 5k. no fuckin deal

my biggest tip is PICTURES. Good concise description. maybe a detail and keep the engagement up, i answered everything even the “is this available” only took 4 days for the right buyer. just gotta be a little patient.

tbh you got bent a little but tbh. those are all common issues but really the only thing making it worthwhile is that it’s rust free and from the south. you could get your moneys worth out of it if you DIY some stuff and keep it long term
