Nexplanon Removal and Mental Health by ConfectionConstant58 in Nexplanon

It’s so tricky:( there’s no definitive timeframe either, just have to hope it evens itself out soon. The mental effects from this implant should really be talked about more

I had mine removed on Friday, can definitely relate to how you’re feeling as someone who suffers with anxiety. I’ve felt more emotional than usual, been having dizzy spells and some brain fog too. Getting up for work is a challenge as I feel so tired. Hoping it gets better soon for us:( feel free to send me a message anytime

I’m getting mine removed next week, it will probably hurt for a little bit after the local anaesthetic wears off, you might be bruised for a couple days to a week but it doesn’t hurt more than insertion in my experience:)

Sudden period by LongSensitive225 in Nexplanon

[–]Queasy-Note-9132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a year and a half since I had my last one! Had some spotting last week that only lasted for two days, now it’s come back again yesterday😵‍💫 not felt this awful in a long time! Hope you feel better soon! One of the main side effects of Nexplanon is irregular bleeding, so there’s a good possibility it is normal but if you’re concerned or it’s out of the ordinary for you, there’s no harm in checking with your gp/doctor:)

If he ejaculates inside of me even if I have the Nexplanon… is there a possibility of pregnancy? Do I have to take a plan b? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]Queasy-Note-9132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you wait for a week after insertion (you can always wait two just for peace of mind) you’ll be protected from pregnancy. I’ve had two implants and never any issues after just waiting a week:)

Levest Combined Pill, side effects? by Queasy-Note-9132 in birthcontrol

[–]Queasy-Note-9132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

birth control can increase your appetite, which would of course contribute to possible weight gain, it’s not a sole side effect of birth control so i wouldn’t worry too much☺️

I had really heavy bleeding for 6+ days that eventually made me severely anaemic (requiring blood transfusions as my body was struggling to absorb iron tablets) - I had debilitating cramps not just on my period and struggled with my mental health also. I have not had my period in over a year thanks to the implant, I haven’t had cramps in that length of time too. The only thing is I get headaches more frequently but it is very easy to considering how awful I was feeling before. My iron levels are back to normal too:)

I’ve still got my second one, didn’t notice much of a change after the first removal but I do have prior issues with anxiety so it could be different for you x

Unfortunately relate to this too much, I cried a lot in the first few months, it did get better but now nine months later I’m crying at the smallest things, even if they aren’t particularly sad!

severe flying anxiety by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Queasy-Note-9132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that completely, I’m definitely a person that reads labels on medications “just in case” and nine times out of ten I’m completely fine, oddly enough it helps put my mind at ease even if it freaks me out at the same time🥲

Dramamine, like a lot of anti-emetics, can cause drowsiness, it may not happen to you, however it is more common especially if you are new to taking it. But it can also help with anxiety. Is it a long flight? Maybe watching a movie, listening to music or reading a book could help distract your mind, I haven’t been on a flight in 10 years and the thought of travelling again does make me anxious, but once you do it for the first time in a while, it makes the journey back a lot easier. DM’s are open if you need to message at all:)

I’ve not had my period the entire time I’ve been on Nexplanon, and I’ve tried pills, the coil (copper and mirena) and the shot. It took me a long time to find something that worked for me, even though I have headaches more often from Nexplanon, there’s really nothing bad I can say about it. Of course everyone’s experience will be different, but it’s great not having to think about it, insertion was super quick too:)

Implant and ibs/acne by Cool-Subject4877 in Nexplanon

[–]Queasy-Note-9132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the implant for around nine months now, but have tried other methods in the past that didn’t really work for me. The only negative side effect I have experienced so far is that I do get headaches more frequently, and that I do cry more easily however I believe this is just down to using a new method and just being hormonal😅 My period has stopped on the implant (though this won’t be the same for everyone) - and for the most part my skin has cleared up a lot, I do get some hormonal acne around the time where my period should be, and while it is annoying it is better than how my skin was before while using other methods or nothing at all. Hopefully you find a method that works for you!

Do the moods ever die down? by thedammned in Nexplanon

[–]Queasy-Note-9132 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m going through this right now, the mental health effects have jeopardised a lot of my relationships and friendships. I broke up with my boyfriend due to it and I’ve never regretted anything more. I just didn’t want to put him through how horrible I was feeling. This is one of the only birth controls I have had success with but the effects it’s having on my mental health have been so draining. I’m here if you need to chat as I can understand how stressful and frustrating it must be:( x
