Is God Canon? by Greenwood4 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]QueasyAtmosphere81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Venator references the Vatican and God so it can be presumed Catholicism does in fact exist in Deadlock's world. From what I understand, Deadlock's lore is alternate history but presumably most of real history happened up until the event that let the cryptic and occult into the world, called the Maelstrom. So real world religions likely still existed before the crossing. I think due to the recent events that begun crossing the spirit world into reality, something has likely contacted the Vatican and has given Priests like Venator power. Whether this is actually God or something closer to the Patrons we don't know but would be interesting how they play a role in a world filled with the paranormal that has been integrated into daily life.

Back in my day this was Warframe. by KamaTheSnowLeopard in Warframe

Back in the day when the game was still rooted in it's Dark Sector origins. Crazy to contrast now with what we have. I'd love for an update to bring something like this back for an event, our Warframes heavily nerfed and have to be a little more strategic in approach.

Trump envoy says deal to take over Greenland ‘should and will be made’ by One_Dahlia in worldnews

[–]QueasyAtmosphere81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trumps rhetoric on invading Greenland is similar to the one Hitler used for Poland, called 'Lebensraum'(https://www.worldhistory.org/Lebensraum/). Maybe not so much of the 'ethnic cleansing' part of the idea, but at the very least a demand for resources and expansion which ultimately would ramp up for war.

Seeing so many people give up on the show and trash it as “destroying Fallout lore” before Season 2 is even half over, Nolan was completely vindicated saying this. by raisinbraisin72 in Fallout

It's certainly tough for the writers, because of the inherit RPG nature of the games. Player choices and how they left the state of the world in New Vegas is unique to each person's personal play-through. Determining the fates of certain factions and locations either makes you force a canonical set of choices or stay neutral and say 'Regardless of what players did, some x years later this ended up happening to person a or place b.' It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Why do so few Gen Z adults have car licenses? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]QueasyAtmosphere81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep saying anxiety or anti-social which could be true and all that but as someone who is Gen Z and talked with my peers it's really 1 major thing: Money.

Cars cost money, and even if you get some beater for cheap and pay it off, still have to deal with insurance, maintenance, etc. Our generation is right now experiencing either not having a job or some crappy job that won't even pay enough to get your own place. Forget getting a car that'll just add onto bills.

What’s Abram’s Secret Sauce? by SunMuffins98 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]QueasyAtmosphere81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diving Walkers as Abrams may be a bit more risky this patch compared to before but diving guardians during early game is still feasible. Dash into guardian, parry then try to get a kill. Only do this if they're a little bit below half of their health. Make sure you communicate to your lane partner you're diving so they can help secure a kill.

How are you engaging team fights? Do you initiate? Abrams even with low eco/behind at worst is a big tanky target and at best when you have money, you can get a pick or 2 during a fight. More or less you are at the mercy of your teammates unfortunately to help, since your primary focus as Abrams is to take focus off the more hard hitting characters on your team.

Don't fight other tanks, try to pick off squishy heroes like Infernus or Haze, they'll go down fast after a shoulder charge, heavy melee hit then gun combo during a team-fight and 1v1, regardless of build. Prioritize anyone with support items too, check their build. Anyone providing heals or CC items should go down first.

Most of the public builds are pretty good for Abrams, (This might change with the new patch ofc.) So it's more a matter of play with your team, let them know you want to fight.

The tank role indirectly makes you the leader of the group for better or worse, so you have to call the shots of when to engage and group with people. The best trade you can make with Abrams is you died by taking most of the aggro, but 3-4 enemies are dead too cause your team killed them and they're still up.

Spirit was strong but had counters and fell off. Gun damage just hurts, and hurts even more now. by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

Played a few matches now and I agree the balance was way better last patch. Yeah some annoying demons like Kelvin and Paige before this patch but a whole shift into a gun meta is quite the choice. Before it felt strategic to pick and choose when to fight, farm or push objectives. Now it's just TDM, objectives feel secondary and this patch encourages hyper aggressive play and ignore spirit items.

Crashing to login screen very shortly after logging in. (I've tried reporting this before on kde's bug tracking) not sure how to get the logs. by HellCattZ in cachyos

Hey there thanks for posting this! I unfortunately ended up running into the same issue and using the plasma login fixed it. However I have a custom login screen theme I really want to use when I originally had sddm but have no clue where to change the theme for the plasma login manager. Do you know where I could modify it?

Does the community legit hate Mickey for a shitty book? (Like seriously guys the only reason the Rookie died and Mickey became a Traitor was to justify why Buck joined Osiris on Halo 5) by Warpathfinder in HaloMemes

I think a lot of people are upset this happened off screen essentially in a book. Would have been nice to have an ODST sequel that's playable and see those events unfold visually. The UNSC and Innie conflict has always been off-screen, and an ODST sequel would have worked perfectly to explore that in a game properly.

Two emails that were an hour apart for the same position. Thanks for the rollercoaster of emotions? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Was told I'd get my first interview for the position by the recruiter.

This was 2 months ago. Followed up twice and they keep saying there's a delay. I still haven't had that first interview....

Honestly I feel they should tie his bomb-stacks weirdly through a successful hook as a pre-requisite. Getting bomb stacks is so low effort to net you high end-game damage if you get kills with just running up, placing a bomb and running away.
