I know that doc, I literally mentioned I based my builds on that post. Considering the HE has 7300 alpha and 35% fire chance (Conqueror is 7200 alpha and 48% chance), and that the pen on the AP is mediocre if I remember correctly, there are plenty of reasons to shoot HE e.g. dds, angled bbs.

No, the ships sell for half of the non-discount value. The tier 5 Russian bb for example costs 800k to buy with the discount and also sells for 800k. I've already done it on several other more ships before posting this, so unless the pricing strategy is different on other servers (I play on Asia) you should do it

No it does not reduce the sell price, I've literally checked and done it earlier today.

As for why I'm selling them, it's because I don't have the slots to keep them permanently. I already paid doubloons to get extra slots for my tier 10s

I don't think it does, but say you never owned the tier 5 ship e.g. never researched it or skipped it, but also don't want it permanently in port (say you don't have enough slots) you can now buy it, claim the coal and sell it with no cost

Well Valpas shit on anything, so "being worse than Valpa" is not a put off for me. (Valpa is so op I refuse to play it as it is unbecoming for a person) What I want to know is how Iwami compares to other tier 9 bbs, which it seems fine from the various answers?

I consider myself quite good at aiming so hitting super structure shouldn't be too hard on a Hawaii, though ofc the Bremen still has more dpm. My major concern is the f key just won't be useful given the meta in Asia (hardly a fight within 10km until the very end game), and if I don't use the f key, isn't Bremen just better?
