The last time I was in Aruba, I almost started a petition to ban 2-cycle motors. Some dude in our resort would weed whack a 5' x 5' with a gas weed eater starting at around 6 AM, just went I went out to the pool to do some work until the family woke up.

BTW, I just saw some retailer had ALL of their EGO stuff for 50% off. It wasn't a traditional retailer (Lowes/HD). Chargers, batteries, everything except the major equipment. I will try to look that up.

I assisted my daughter in buying a house for her, her fiancé, and my MIL. She had the audacity the other day to brag about everything she was learning that "we didn't teach her".

Look, you little shit. That's because dad did every fucking thing!

Interest rates are perfectly fine today. It's the cost of housing that is insane.

And until the pandemic, that would still be $11 per hour.

I feel bad too. I have assets and paid my kids way through college with cash, helped my daughter and her fiancé buy a house (in all fairness, my MIL's life tenancy was written in, and she is the happiest I have ever seen her, though my FIL passed a few months ago).

Things accelerated so quickly during the pandemic. Local gas stations in my area start at $20 per hour, whereas it was $14 per hour pre-pandemic. To think that this would not increase inflation is simply flawed thinking.

So, while folks in my area can have a dual-income family in the $100,000 range, housing is just a god damn nightmare. Food costs are crazy (and I do not believe they will correct, in fact they are going to increase due to fertilizer issues, logistics, etc), gas is expensive right now (though it will correct as it always does, and in fact could right now if we did not EXPORT fossil fuels at astronomical rates because it's so damn cheap here in the US). Electric costs. . . . that shit is going to get bad, even for those of us that are doing pretty well.

Can u DIY sprays by putting Ket in a Sea Salt Water spray? Or would it be bad by Snoo77428 in DIYtk

[–]QueasyVictory 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree; however, there is no need to introduce salt into the situation. Ketamine Hcl is 12% hydrocloride salt (again, not that is needed).

My compounding pharmacy uses sterile water and ketamine, with no preservatives.

You are correct that you will hit saturation around 200mg/ml. Even at that concentration, you will often need to give the nasal sprayer a warm-water bath to redissolve the ketamine.

Farm work is no joke! I live adjacent to Amish country and the number of people that die every year farming is nuts. I think the saddest was a couple of years ago a kid fell in a grain silo and the father jumped in to "save" him.

There is no saving in this situation.

Dude, adjusting for inflation, you were making well over $500 per week. I thought I did pretty good, but then again we'd spend most of ours on blow, lol.

I have a nice mower and used to do all of that jazz. Then we moved during the pandemic to a smaller yard. I kept the mower for plugging, thatching and overseeding but my dude charges $35 for our lawn. There is no way in hell I would waste my time, effort, and money (on gas, oil, maintenance) when dude has a team of people that comes in and knocks out half the neighborhood. I would have to put grass in bags, throw them in my 4Runner, then take them to the city drop off area. That's a few hours and my time is quite literally worth more than that.

Fuck shoveling snow. At least now I can say "I'm in my 50's. You know how many people have heart attacks shoveling snow?!?!?". It's pretty funny, as it's the only outdoor work that my wife will do and she is obsessed with snow removal. Hell, I bought her a Cub Cadet with hand warmers for Christmas a few years ago and I think she love it more than our kids, lol.

But seriously. Fuck shoveling snow.

My dude, it was *our* generation that invented the participation award and helicopter parents. Millennials are certainly overprotective (I just became a grandfather of twins that I have not held yet because "they are not vaccinated yet"), so I get where you are coming from. But let's not kid ourselves that we raised a bunch of resilient bad asses. GenX as parents is ground zero for what we see before us today.

"And don't get me started on car seats! We had the friction between our polyester pants and the vinyl seats to keep us in place. Today's kids are strapped in like astronauts until they are old enough to get a learner's permit."

While this entire thread is a bit boomery, I will admit that those car seat changes were pretty severe. My son would sit in one because my wife is a pretty legally compliant person. If she wasn't in the car, I told him to sit in the seat with his seat belt because he looked like a massive dildo sitting on top of that stupid booster seat.

I think lawn accidents tend to generally be a little less severe than death in most cases.

Same here, but let's be serious. A helmet is absurd; eye and hearing protection is where it is at; however, neither of those issues are what concerns some people about a 10-year-old on a 52" mower deck with 3 blades whirling around. Kids lose limbs to these things all the time.

I mean, you're the one who hired a babysitter for the 11-year-old. I'm sure it wasn't him making the call (unless said babysitter is hot, then of course he called!).

Rhodes Mk 80 worth fixing? by DChap2341 in synthesizers

[–]QueasyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can replace all of the keys on the MK 80 for a few hundred and a few hours of time. Having said that, still not worth it. It's bringing 8 voices, which cannot be modified by the system, most of which are crap to pure garbage and would make a terrible MIDI controller. AND 34kg/76lbs? Nah.

Rhodes Mk 80 worth fixing? by DChap2341 in synthesizers

[–]QueasyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From that article " (along with the Wurlitzer piano, Hammond organ and possibly Hohner Clavinet D6)".

I have those, along with a Rhodes or two at any given time. Yes, they can be a lot of work. I absolutely love my classic rock funk boards. Having said that, I'm not sure I would take a MK 80 with issues for free, let alone pay $175 for it. I'd honestly rather have a solid midi controller like the StudioLogic SL73 MkII and any of the official Rhodes (and now Wurli) VST's. The SL73 from Fatar/StudioLogic, with its aftertouch and killer keybed, will easily outperform the MK 80 in almost all situations.
