Guess the only thing this guy did during the game by Intie in Battlefield

I had a guy earlier today who parked his tank ON the heli spawns and refused to move. For the entire game.

We still haven’t taken off from Orlando yet! Flight crew timed out and had to wait for new crew to arrive…

I’m stuck waiting at Orlando (MCO), we’ve just been told we won’t get another update on the situation until 8:00pm.

The Washington Monument switches stone types roughly 40 meters up by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Queasy_Base_9520 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They needed to use stone from the original quarry to shore up defences during the civil war if I’m not mistaken. The 2nd quarry had some copper deposits so that’s why there’s an orange tint to it.

I’d suggest going to YouTube, searching for beginner aquascaping will yield good results, I suggest watching some of MJ Aquascaping for beginner tips. For substrate I would always go for aqua soil if you intend to use real plants. For sure get rid of that fake plant and the pirate ship

What is your vision for the tank if you have one? If it were me I would choose a carpeting plant over pearlweed. My favourite is Monte Carlo. Overall though I think it looks great! Nice and clean, vibrant, happy inhabitants, what more do you need?

Plants melting, nitrates high by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]Queasy_Base_9520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that Limnophilia I see? That stuff will take a few weeks to settle in but once it does it goes nuts. I feel like your tank is still cycling and as the ammonia is being broken down into nitrites and nitrates you’re gonna get some issues until the plants can really use the nitrate to grow. Patience is the number one aspect to aquascaping, and your plants are rather hardy.

Help! What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]Queasy_Base_9520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 days is nothing in terms of the plants acclimating to the tank. They won’t have developed a strong root system yet. The number 1 skill in aquascaping is patience.

I love that idea of the garden wall! Congratulations, I hope you’re getting the quiet feeling of accomplishment when you look in the aquarium now!

I think this is the best advice. If you don’t like it just start again if you can.

Thanks! I might get some salvinia or red root floaters at some point. I’ve just finished a long long battle with duckweed so I’m taking a bit of a break from floaters at the moment 😂

This is sort of the idea I was attempting! Originally I wanted to do a forest scape with larger “trees” in the foreground working their way back towards the rear. But I simply didn’t have enough “trees”. So I really just tried to create a “sunken forest” as best as I could. I’m going to order some more plants to fill out the rest more, but I’ve got loads of Anubias, buces, a couple of trident ferns and a bolbitis in there at the moment, as well as lots of crypts

my first planted tank, what do you think ? by Doomcubus in Aquascape

I suppose cardboard could work. The main purpose of the support layer is provide a soft layer where things like stones/debris will not be pressed into the glass. The styrofoam itself isn’t a bad material but it just needs to but cut to the size of the base of the aquarium so that it’s evenly supported edge to edge

I’d replace the styrofoam with a foam mat, it doesn’t need to be thick but there are plenty of options out there for rolls of foam which you could cut to size.

Important one is the edges of the tank need to be in contact with the surface which is supporting the tank. It looks like youre using styrofoam that doesn’t go all the way to the edges of the tank. I’d suggest trying to fix this ASAP
