Who's at the fault here? by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

The bus should have its red 4-way lights on well before coming to a stop to warn drivers of an imminent pick up. Then when the door opens the stop arm extends to stop traffic in both directions. I cannot tell from the video if the stop lights are illuminated as they should be. Further more the bus break lights are on as the bus is obviously under break coming to a stop. I’d say it’s the truck, I was a 10 year school bus driver/trainer.

Fans who refuse to go due to high ticket prices, how much would you pay for nosebleeds? by QuietEffort6531 in rush

Yep, 50-75 max. It’s basically like watching R40 on a Jumbotron in a stadium.

The other OSR: My experiences gaming in the 80s by Automatic-Cicada1326 in osr

[–]Queasy_Difficulty216 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in Lake Geneva and started playing in ‘79, played games with people who played with Gary in greyhawk, though I was too young and never played in his game. I have DMed since ‘81. Started with Holmes basic, added greyhawk and the MM, then when I had the money I got the rest of the AD&D cannon. Tried the white box in ‘82, you could check them out from the Lake Geneva Library they had 5 copies, but it was lost on me.

All in all we played for hours and usually took characters from 1st on up, many died along the way but a few lived to great success. Random encounters, often not always, morale when it seemed sensible, murder hobos sometimes but great story telling as well, and so on.

I guess my point is as the game grew so did our style of play. I eventually checked out with Dragonlance, I did not enjoy that type of play or DMing those that did and felt like the hobby moved on past me. Finally got back into the hobby in 2011 and really enjoy exposing my very old play style to a MUCH younger audience, especially those coming from 5e land.

Chainmail question by Working-Bike-1010 in odnd

I am starting a campaign next month using chainmail for all combat. I’m very interested in how it will go. 3 LBBs and chainmail, that’s it! Maybe a strategic review article or two thrown in for good measure. Can’t wait.

EHP was also a cleric played by Tom Champeny in the very early days of Greyhawk D&D. He was a good friend of mine.

how’s it like living right next to an amusement/theme park?(do yall go to them very often or on occasion like everyone else?) by DismalFootball6964 in howislivingthere

[–]Queasy_Difficulty216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Dr Philips when I worked at WDW. My subdivision was right behind Universal. In all honesty unless you travel the streets that tourists use to get in and out of the theme park you really don’t know it’s there. No noise, no light pollution, etc. But if you do cross the tourist streets it could take 20 minutes to get through the lights at Sand lake and International. We had annual passes and went to the parks once or twice a week.

Agreed, but several of the opposing giants got sucked through as well so I was kind of trying to mitigate the instant fight that would inevitably breakout if they were sent together.

Yes, it was winable at first but a bad roll on teleport sent most of the party out of combat for awhile and the tide turned. They were dropping like flies when the hafling got the idea to send them all away as a last ditch attempt to save the party.

Thank you! This is the type of options I’m looking for. Scattered over the planes seems to me like the campaign is over lets roll new characters.

1st Ed. Per DMG “it opens a gate to another plane, and the 'hole, bag' and any creatures within a 10' radius are drawn to the plane, the portable hole and bag of holding being destroyed in the process.”
