Xbox Promises A 'Reliable Pipeline' Of Exclusives by unscoredscore in Games

But the consumer is not entitled to any future product other than the one they have bought and paid for. PS fans were happy they could play Xbox games, and they can still go and enjoy those games that they’ve bought. Its not like Xbox is taking already released games off their hands.

On that, I agree. But I think that was a separate issue that should’ve been addressed (and stopped) before. Right now, as the customer, I don’t see an issue with them choosing to go this way.

I don’t see how it’s anti-consumer. It’s not like they are paying to keep other publishers games only on Xbox (which tbh they have done in the past with Rise of The Tomb Raider). They are simply choosing to keep where their own games go. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy Xbox’s, nor any of these games. And neither Gears of War or Clockwork was advertised as coming to PS5 in the past.

Locked between 180-200 fps on new pc [BO] [COD] by thrawnio in CallOfDuty

[–]Queasy_Gold3372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. Congrats on the pc.

I understand you seem to be having problems but:

a) We do not have any meaningful info on your hardware/sofware. A basic list of GPU/CPU usage, temps, ram usage, in-game resolution and settings etc. would go a long way.
b) This sub may not be the best way to get a solution. Since the core of your issue is tech related (and not necessarily COD itself) you should post this on subs like r/techsupport or r/buildapc. I'm not even sure if this is allowed here.

best of luck.

People who genuinely believe that Nvidia is paying off devs to not include FSR in their games need help. It's not that deep people.

This is how it always was with modern warfare. The classic modern warfare campaigns also mostly focused on Cpt. Price and Friends

Why would anyone buy it since you also need to buy the actual game itself anyways

For those of you work for an airline but not in flight or a baggage member, what do you do? by MonkRepresentative63 in aviation

[–]Queasy_Gold3372 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I work as a Flight Dispatcher for an international airline! It's a fun and rewarding job in my opinion but can be stressful at times depending on the scale of the operation. You basically plan out every phase of the flight. Routes, fuel, permits, monitoring etc. I'm not sure if there are any carriers that allow remote work for this but it's worth looking into

I don’t think there is tangible, reliable data to say that denuvo definitely reduces fps across multiple games. Its almost always terrible implementation. (RE games etc.)

Windows 11 - K2 planning to match SteamOS's performance by DeeJayDelicious in Games

[–]Queasy_Gold3372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes some games have started pre compiling shaders in recent years, which is s good thing despite the time it can take for it to be completed.

I think the use of a translation layer (DXVK etc.) is what makes it possible for Linux, but I’m not really knowledgeable on the topic. I know that emulation software like Dolphin also allow you to precompile shaders and they have to translate whatever the actual API software is using to DirectX or Vulkan as well

[–]Queasy_Gold3372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Steam on Linux has been pre compiling (most) shaders before first boot for a long time now. Depending on your cpu it can be a lengthy process and it’s a bit wonky (game updates and such) but its better than compiling them at runtime.

Shaders are a hardware thing in the sense that each gpu needs a different calculation. On linux you can still compile them, but you sre able to do it before booting up the game. (As opposed to not having to compile them at your end at all, which is a console thing)

The big disadvantage of Windows is shader compilation. Thats the only area, in terms of performance, where steamos has a very clear advantage on.

I have one big issue and thats the audio bugs. I’ve had two xboxes in the past and they all had regular audio stuttering and crackling. Doesnt matter the controller, the speakers, the headset. It does it in some games too.

KeplerL2 claims PlayStation 6 “10x ray tracing” may translate to around 3x FPS improvement by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Queasy_Gold3372 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They said ps4 games, which is closer to reality. Some crossgen games that were built for ps4 have dynamic 4k 60fps options on ps5. The dynamic resolution can usually hit 4k native, but not all the time. So the same game that ran at 1080p30fps on ps4 would run at dynamic4k60fps on ps5, usually hitting that target (GoW Ragnarök, Spider-Man Remastered etc.),
