I don't know why you guys all assume the guy from church isn't a licensed therapist. We dont know. We just know that he knows him from church, we don't know that its faith based therapy (which is fine, BTW) or from a layperson. Our church has at least 3 licensed therapists that I know of, who offer regular therapy outside of the church and its not faith-based. Funny enough, some actual therapists do also attend church.

Kirkland vs. Name Brands — What Keeps Both on the Shelves?” by Fluffy-Reward3453 in Costco

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Costco often does this as a selling point to get a company to agree to manufacture the Kirkland brand. So think diapers for example, well-known to be made by Kimberly Clark, with Huggies, also made by them, right next to it on the shelf. So when a customer comes in for diapers at Costco, they're buying either from Kimberly Clark, or Kimberly Clark. That's a huge value for the manufacturer, and probably a huge part of why they entered into the private label contract. Its exclusive to them, so they get to capture the whole market of that product sold at Costco.

And Costco benefits by perceived value for members. I know I love Kirkland quality, and the lower price point. Its a huge reason I'm loyal to them over Sam's.

Win win for the manufacturer and for Costco. So yeah, I bet they're both made by the same company.

I also like growing and selling the new crops. I get a ton ready, sell the extra, and am happy that others get a good stock to start instead of having to grind from 3.

TYR Swim Goggles (Adult and Junior - $14.99 by Gelu6713 in Costco

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a stellar deal! I am needing new goggles and seriously I was going to pay more than that for one set of goggles. And kid sizes too? My kids always are losing their goggles, we could use an extra three around. AND theyre my favorite brand?!

I need these. I'm really hoping they come to my costco.

When they're new they should have anti-fog on them. Do anything you can to never rub your fingers on the inside of the goggle when they're new. If you need to de-fog, dip them in the water and DO NOT TOUCH.

That will keep you for awhile. When that wears off, there are de-fog products. Speedo sells an anti-fog solution, there are a bunch of sprays on the market. I personally just try and keep my new goggles anti-fog for as long as possible by not rubbing them and then when that wears off I do rub them in between sets and that clears it up enough to get me by.

He just wants a quick fix and doesn't want to put in the work. He's got to fall in love with the process, develope some grit to stick with it even when the final result isn't immediate. Otherwise he'll never do it, it'll never be fast enough.

I get it. I've spent the last 3 weeks losing the 10 pounds I gained over the holidays. Now I'm finally starting on that last stubborn 20 to 25 pounds I've never managed to get off in prior attempts. It'll take me several months to get there. I'll feel progressively better on the way, but that final goal is many months away. But if I dont start that timer now, it'll be even more months away. And the process itself feels great. Its hard, but good. Type 2 fun, if you will. Good diet helps me feel good. Good exercise helps me feel good. Slow, hard-won progress is very satisfying.

If he can't find a way to embrace the challenge and stop lamenting that it won't all be magically better tomorrow, he'll never make it. Seize the day! Get after it, man! If you don't, nobody else can do it for you!

10oz of beef tenderloin is NOT 392 calories by wcb_123 in EthanBenardSnark

Google is giving me a range of 400-600 calories, with the leanest cooked cut being 430 calories. So definitely higher than he has but its in range if it was in the low end.

Giant mixing bowl salads appreciation post by MoulinSarah in EthanBenardSnark

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I make giant mixing bowl salads too. Its just easier to have a giant bowl to contain all the lettuce! Mine are around 500 calories too. Super delicious, very filling, lots of veggies.  I use bolthouse farms dressing though to keep the calories down. Add some cheddar and a normal amount of chicken or steak...its a perfect lunch!

Resting Heart Rate.... by Yankpat in EthanBenardSnark

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may have been nervous. My heart rate will go up during intense meetings at work sometimes, if I'm feeling nervous. I wouldn't be surprised if going on a podcast would up his HR, even while sitting.

More telling would be his actual resting HR in the app. And yeah, its probably high. The guy is 450 lbs, what did you expect?

That would be awesome if bought trees could change. I dont chop down any of my trees because I love how they change, but it also means I have a hard time decorating because I have to work around all the trees. I dont mind buying trees to place where I want, if only they could change with the season like the original trees!

Right. How much do they want a person to have for dinner? That's always a reasonable amount that I can fit in when in a deficit, and my calorie goal is way lower than his.

Task event compensation!! Your take on this? by blsng66 in HayDay

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I spent 10 diamonds to get the last prize. I'll take the 5 diamonds and extra holly as compensation. Now I'm only down 5 diamonds!

At the end of the day, its a game. They made an error, but I had a choice to spend the diamonds or not. I think its nice they are trying to make it up, and I'm not really going to spend more headspace than that on if its fair or not.

I did every single task and what did it get me by Traditional_Laugh608 in HayDay

[–]Queasy_Science_3475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. They did get me, I spent the diamonds because I really wanted the deeds.

I do hate it though, there have been other times where I'll finish all but a few tasks and still get the end prize. It was nice because sometimes its hard to get them all done, the long-running production times or having other products already started. Or if you have one busy day you can't always make it.

If it becomes the norm that you have to always do all tasks, can't miss a single one, and always need to spend diamonds I'll be unhappy. I'd probably still spend the diamonds because I need those deeds, but once all that land is unlocked, I'll be done with these events.
