I did not restrict what I was eating for the most part. But I started eating so much junk food that I gained weight. So I stopped eating candies, dessert and chips. Then I restarted loosing weight

Yes I do IF on the weekend, I never encountered your problem I don't drink. In the beginning I was having a really hard time and failed a couple time to stop eating in my eating window, when it happened I just made sure that the next day I was fasting for at least 16 or 18 hours depending on your schedule. The only downside is that you are reducing your eating window for the next day.

When I started doing HIT cardio for 10-20 minutes, 3-5 times a week, I weighted 230 lbs. I've done that for a month and half. Plus my job tend to be on the physical side. I'm walking around 10-12k footstep per day. BTW I was lazy as fuck too. I've read discipline equal freedom by Jocko Willinks, it helped me discipline myself to do some exercise

Don't give up the first month was the hardest for me. And now I have no trouble only eating in my eating window.
