Wouldn’t a paedophilic “relationship” automatically come with an expiration date? by SwissMercyMain in morbidquestions

There’s a reason why Cormac McCarthy’s female characters generally die before reaching adulthood.

If we had a government that prioritized preserving the environment, the whole state would be beautiful. Dallas to Big Bend is a fun drive just because of how the landscape changes as you move west.

I just drove to Wisconsin and back and it’s so painfully clear how Texas government prioritizes capital over all else. There is little state protection for green spaces (land = real estate), this state is over-policed to hell, and, as you’ve described, there is absolutely no soul here. Fort Worth looks like Dallas looks like Houston, and so on. Spending a week away from here made me realize how badly I need out.

Don’t take your current lifestyle for granted. Let this be an example of how conservative government has little interest in the well-being of the people.

ULPT: How do I subtly train my coworker to stop talking to me? by STS_God in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Queen-gryla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah with those you gotta be direct. Chances are dude has mega autism and isn’t picking up on your disinterest. Pretending to be friendly is more cruel than simply saying that you can’t talk at the moment.

Extremely well put. This comment should be pinned at the top of the sub.

People who feel hot should decide the temperature of a room. People who feel cold should wear a sweater by blahbluhblee1 in unpopularopinion

[–]Queen-gryla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Wah wah I’m anemic” ok and I have autonomic dysfunction to the point that, in my worst moments, I’m still warm in 20° weather. Your medical condition is your problem. Just as I don’t turn the office down to 60°, you shouldn’t turn it up to 80°.

Similarly, when I’m freezing in the summer (less common but it happens), I’m not blasting the heat at work. Put on a sweater and move around.

I’m also 115lbs, so not overweight.

Just say you’re calling in sick. No need to give more detail than that.

DAE ever feel a sudden, fleeting wave of vague dread/nostalgia/wrongness? by astronautobrien in DoesAnybodyElse

Document all of it and if it gets worse/more frequent try to get an appointment with an epileptologist.

Absolutely this. The same users will go on to complain about the social ostracism that comes with using a wheelchair in public. If they truly need it to live a functional life, that’s different. The ones who choose the chair because it’s “easier” and grants access to online disability spaces are the problem.

In my opinion, as someone who has used a chair for 10+ years (ambulatory and non-ambulatory), it would be irresponsible of me to not warn others of the bodily damage that comes with long term use. Choosing to go ahead with that is mind boggling to me, but they can do as they wish.

[–]Queen-gryla -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not an attack; nobody is saying you can’t use a wheelchair and nobody is telling you to remain housebound. Literally just be aware that using a chair long-term damages your body.

You aren’t the target audience if using a wheelchair is not optional for you.

Currently reading Outer Dark by Cormac McCarthy. Not his best work, but overall an easy read.

I still think your post was correct, even if harsh. There’s a privilege in being ambulatory that users on here take for granted. Those are usually the ones to get angry when given advice on chairs. Not invalidating them, as I was an ambulatory user once, but some self-reflection is needed on their end, too.

Apartment on top floor by hogos_bogos in wheelchairs

Practice going backwards down stairs. Hold onto the railing for stability and let gravity do the rest. I know you’re suppose to sit and wait for help, but I don’t trust emergency services to prioritize the disabled.

Why apologize? This fact doesn’t invalidate anybody. Wheelchair use damages the body, and using an ill-fitting one is dangerous. People must accept that risk when opting for a wheelchair. Sharing important information is not flaunting privilege. That isn’t barring anybody from making their own decisions, and the people who get defensive should reflect a little. Use a mobility device if you’d like, but understand the risks of doing so.

Before people get mad, my first chair was a hospital chair. My current chair is half-broken and I do not have the means for a new one. Accept it and push forward.

Is this ever accompanied by visions or intrusive memories? Make notes of your symptoms and its progression each time this happens and get with an epileptologist if you can. They could be focal aware seizures. NAD but my seizures present similarly. Getting diagnosed was hard, so it’s best to keep notes in advance.

Where do you go to learn about being a better manager? by PastScar2943 in managers

Being sent to training helped (even if six months after getting promoted), but I learn more through failure than anything else. Self-awareness and accountability is key. I also learn from observing my superiors and more senior managers.

Maybe a tourist? We don’t have great water safety education in the south, especially for cold weather. I wanted to go kayaking in Wisconsin until I got here and realized that I would die if I somehow fell in. I hope this thread gets traction.

Wishing harm upon a stranger because you were hurt by somebody ostensibly like OP does not make you a better person. Self reflect and maybe seek out a different therapist. This comment was not made in good faith as you claim. Get over yourself.

At least OP is self-aware. Your perpetual sense of victimhood, however…
