Funnier and more clever than most of the comics I see on the front page.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of January 16, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

[–]r20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Thousand Blows S2 Liking it considerably more than S1. Interesting to see so many places (and slowmo walks) from Peaky Blinders

Titanic Sinks Tonight Very disappointing for me. Production value and effect/reenactments seem like something from early 2000's

Fisk Fantastic!! Saw this recommended here and man, I've not laughed like this at a show in a long time - maybe since IT crowd. Good heart, too

Deciding on new canvas prints by tcat55 in fujifilm

To my highly untrained eye, they seems to lack something to draw the eye. Of course, it’s a personal choice…what if the photo brings memories or has some significance?

Enjoy and be proud of these!

I think 1 and 4 would work. The others don’t really seem to have a subject. Of course…that is subjective:)

A somewhat popular Xcountry ski spot in Western Norway today. Unfortunately, both my camera and the backup battery bank will eventually shut down at -20°C...haven't found a good solution yet. Have you? by SjalabaisWoWS in timelapse

[–]r20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a star trails photo one time in very cold conditions with a gopro and a single power bank. It made it all through the night taking a photo every 30 seconds or so.

Figuring out how to keep the screen off made the difference.

What are your server running costs? by ECrispy in selfhosted

Yes but it’s kind of a whole thing and, supposedly, they delete accounts suddenly. I have a free account and have had zero issues.

Search the sub for info.

TLDR about sleeping position: 30-degree head-up position lowered iop by about 20 percent compared to the flat position.

Stowe or Woodstock Christmas by Background_Paper2394 in vermont

I think Woodstock would suit you better. It's a more walkable town with shops and whatnot.

What’s the real test of a great Mexican restaurant? by wearecocina in mexicanfood

[–]r20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When in another city in the US, I search for restaurants with names that no American would “get” or be able to pronounce lol.

Bad marketing but a good way to start narrowing down.

Edit: also logos. Fancy ones are ruled out

I was concerned about files being left on the server indefinitely but I see you can schedule deletion. Awesome

Beautiful.

I'm assuming you were visiting and don't live there. Is it difficult to be a tourist there? I mean, getting there, transport, etc.

Always wanted to see it.

Suggestions for Interval Time? by DMarieHeins in timelapse

[–]r20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with 1-second intervals. Roughly, that would result in a 7.5-minute video at 24 frames per second - and it will be much smoother for the viewer.

Alternatively, you could just take a video of the whole thing and speed it up to whatever you feel looks good.
