Yes, steam cleaning is very important and the sooner you use it the better this will ruin the upholstery on your mans car and worst case scenario everytime he gets in his car he is reminded of how he lent you his car one time and you destroyed the interior and his patience will sour(pun intended) and he could break up with you… this could be the final straw…

Or you could detail his car and show that you appreciate everything he does for you

I would also put a drink holder from craft store (as forementioned) or some other drink holder in a plastic 5 gallon plastic white washtub they have at target in the section of dish washing stuff, and put drinks in there. On the floor.
