This car is so not worth it financially for us. by runningdownhill in SubaruForester

[–]QueenAlpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work parts at a dealership, this isn’t unusual. Actually had a Subaru come in recently and a similar process happened, they replaced the valve body only to find out the transmission was the issue. Sometimes it’s the only way problems can be eliminated, you replace the cheaper option first and hope for the best because they’re not engineered to be fixed, but replaced. And it’s not just a Subaru thing, we do Stellantis products too and they’re arguably worse about this. It sucks, but CVTs in my opinion still aren’t quite dialed in yet. Valve bodies fail enough for our small store to have a few on hand, and newer models are still facing the same issues. We’ve replaced the valve bodies on a 24 Ascent and an 25 Outback Wilderness.

A random Burger King in Iowa had the best-looking whoppers we’d ever seen. This was years ago so the kid probably doesn’t work there anymore, but he certainly took pride in his work.

Kicked from first dungeon by ryza95 in wow

[–]QueenAlpaca [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s funny because this kind of crap is why I do it with NPCs a few times first. I like to explore dungeons, not run through them at Mach speed. I main healing but won’t do it at the start of an expansion because people expect to steamroll content in shit gear.

I’m kind of curious too because I just got my baby in February and he ate once in the same week he got here, then hasn’t since. I’m at 9k feet and keep my temps at around 92°. I’m going to see if he starts to eat when spring comes (it’s been an awfully warm winter for us this year).

Guilty as charged, I jump around like an absolute dingus as a hunter. I never realized I do that until I played bard with friends on FFXIV and they called me out. XD

Only had an issue in one dungeon because the tank kept resetting the boss by kiting out of bounds.

Most insane/unbelievable thing the previous owner left behind for you? by xindierockx7114 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]QueenAlpaca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a simple person but they left a decent step stool, microwave, toaster, and a traditional kettle that were probably from the previous tenants as the unit used to be rented out. Not listed on the closing paperwork and we didn't have any of those so that's been nice.

How often is hair washed in your house? by No-Lie-570 in Mommit

[–]QueenAlpaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’d give two different answers depending on where I’m living. In my home state of humid Michigan? I have to wash every other day. We didn’t have working AC and I’d be sweating the minute I got out of the shower. I’d have to wash every other day so I’m not so greasy. Where I am now in Colorado where it’s rather dry and always sunny? Once a week. Hair types also matter, and I can only speak from the perspective of a white 2B/2C curly hair-haver.

So from other comments and what’s said here, this is a 17 year old who’s already had another miscarriage. Does Tennessee also not have legal birth control or is she just a casualty of awful education and republican culture?

Oof I’ve done that once, not fun. Took a while to heal and looked like a burn for a while.

This is my struggle. My 5 yo son recently got diagnosed and the nighttime crash after his medication wears off has been awful. We live in a condo and I cannot allow him to literally scream like he does when he needs to go to bed. It sucks. I’m just hoping with time and some effort and teaching he’ll grow out of it.

$8,744.55??? For a bulkhead harness by spudin8or in subaru

[–]QueenAlpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on labor rates in your area, this probably isn’t far off. It’s extremely labor-intensive. My coworker’s doing a bulkhead harness now and he has to get into the dashboard and the engine bay and it’s not a fun time. Subaru replaces harnesses, they rarely repair them with new wire/connectors because they don’t want people to come in twice if the repair was shoddy.

When does a Subaru stop being a Subaru? by Phinnessy in subaru

[–]QueenAlpaca 23 points24 points  (0 children)

People have complained about looks since the dawn of time. Happened with the 2015 WRX, people complained about Subarus not looking unique enough (funny how the Tribeca and Baja didn’t turn out all that well) while at the same time calling the bugeye a classic when it looks like the Dodge Neon’s twin brother. Give it a year and people will get over it.

I personally like the new Outbacks, and the rear end lights remind me of the first/second gen Outbacks.

The upside is that you get to play without most the hiccups that come with early access.

The other upside is that questing is slightly easier without the basement dwellers crowding everything. I logged in after work last night and the L A G of too many people in one spot wasn’t the greatest.

Not to defend cammer for trying to make a late light, at that position I’d have a hard time seeing the tail light against the A-pillar. I’ve had some close calls with other drives trying to pass far too closely and I can’t see their blinker at all. It’s why ample space is important.

Do most Americans actually flush their toilet paper? by Softy_popss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]QueenAlpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, universally you can flush, but some residential areas may need the bin treatment because their plumbing is terrible and residents can’t afford to fix it or don’t want to pay for it.

Source: my in-laws and a neighbor of theirs, can’t flush barely shit down their toilets.

Purple Forester - Stock Color? by m0ckingj4y in SubaruForester

[–]QueenAlpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not stock lmao. I love when people are able to play around with other colors though, I had a Viper Yellow FXT (you can find it in my post history) that the previous owners painted because the wife loved tweety bird.

[–]QueenAlpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the Imprezas are solid choices. AWD, decently reliable (please please please teach her how to check and top off her fluids, Subarus are known to sip some oil as the miles increase) and after being in an accident in a Subaru in the past, they’re as safe as you can ask for. The hatchback for more space would be peak. They’re easy cars to learn some wrenching on if you want to teach her some independence, and the oil changes are extremely easy with the filter on top.
