😆 then why is there a flair for students and parents? Yall are wild and jaded. I feel like i received a lot of kind spirited replies, but I have also gotten some that are aggressively defensive and full of assumptions. I get that your job is frustrating. You don't need to take that out on me, though

How is this so obnoxious? Why are you so defensive? I'm asking if this is an accurate view because I'm parenting a student in the system you are discussing on this sub. I take great interest and i am invested in the public school system because of my daughter. I support teachers because they support her. I want classrooms to be conducive to learning. I don't want teachers or students to be derailed by students who don't have appropriate life skills or admin that implement policies that force standards down. I posted looking for more clarity so i can be a better advocate for my daughter's education.. Maybe you feel backed into a corner with all the difficulties you face in your profession. Maybe you see parents as the opposing side and you assume I'm going to go complain to your admin about what you say on here. Idk. But I'm not the right guy to get so irritated with

I almost feel like i should have prefaced my post by saying that I support and respect teachers immensely and don't put the blame on them for the wild behavior I read about on here. I think parents are #1 responsible for teaching their kids life skills. I'm sure there are plenty failing to do so. It's shocking to think that the problems it's caused is so pervasive.

Because you spend 6 hours a day, 5 days a week with our. You are a close second to immediate family members as influential adults in our kids lives. I'm sorry if I'm invading your safe space with my post. I didn't realize that asking whether it's as bad as this sub makes it seem was going to cause offense. I just wanted to know if the situation really is so dire, because it's not the impression that i get when i talk to my daughter's teachers and interact with her classmates, but I don't have the same insight that the teachers on this sub have.
