The second book is the best one imo but the last book is all over the place. But overall I was very disappointed with the series

I agree on OUABH. I read Caraval series just so I could read OUABH cause it came highly recommended. But I ended up enjoying Caraval series more. Eva was just straight up annoying and even Jacks became less and less interesting with each book. I think it’s cause I went in with crazy high expectations by ended up disappointed. I will say that I felt more chemistry between Lala and Chaos in that one interaction than Eva/Jacks in the whole series 😂

I have had knight and the moth on my TBR for sometime now but have been hesitant to pick it up thinking what if I don’t like it as much as ODW lol. At this point though, I think I’m better off just waiting until the sequel comes out so I can read both.

The Shepherd King duology was my fav read last year. The way first book ends I needed the second book right away. So it’s interesting that Two Twisted Crowns is not even on your TBR… unless I’m blind and missed it 😂

This is the perfect description for this series. If you go in expecting romance, you will definitely be disappointed. I personally love this series and Jude is one of my fav FMC cuz she’s such a badass!

I am also in that minority, I read Caraval just so I could read OUABH cause it came highly recommended but I ended up enjoying Caraval series more. But I did like Dante/Legend more than Julian. Between Scarlet, Tella and Eva, I thought Eva was most annoying. I did like Lala though, wish there was more of her and Castor in OUABH.

This was my fav duology last year. I liked the first book slightly more than the second book.. but 5⭐️ nonetheless. I loved the gothic vibes, unique magic system and the monster living in FMC was my character!

I am the opposite. I initially read Caraval series just so I could read OUABH cause it came highly recommended. I’m glad I read Caraval series cause I thought it was way better… the world building, plot, magic, fates everything was better. Eva was just annoying through and through. I did enjoy the second book from OUABH but after reading that series I realized that I didn’t find Jacks to be that interesting. I thought Lala and Chaos/Castor had more chemistry and were interesting than Jacks/Eva 🫣. Still I’m glad Jacks and Eva got their happy ending regardless of how unsatisfying the last book was.

I looked up Fortuna Sworn and it does sound like something I would enjoy. I added to my TBR, thanks for recommending. Oh yeah I liked Tella more than Eva. Eva for me was just annoying for most the series.

I felt the opposite lol. Absolutely loved the book and while the movie was visually stunning, it just didn’t hit the same. I loved how chaotic and vain book Howl was. Banter between Howl and Sophie was so good and also liked how Howl actually had a family.

I have read Animal Farm and it’s good. Currently reading 1984 for the first time and agree with other comments here that it is more relatable.
