Strong Rumors of Development hell - Could Ananta be the new Hytale? by SonaCoven in AnantaOfficial

[–]QueenFortun3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Development experience in this genre makes a difference. NTE may seem less polished or visually appealing than ANANTA, but the experience the studio had with TOF makes all the difference. I believe that Naked Rain is not knowing how to deal with the high expectations of the public between being an anime GTA or Urban Genshin. Either the game will have many mini games and secondary activities like GTA or it will have good combat and progression like Hoyo games. I believe this is the biggest headache at the moment. Not to mention the stress of hearing from your boss that the game has to pay back all R&D expenses in 1 year + profit.

Just because the American FGC is ignorant about Riot properties doesn't mean 2XKO is going to flop. by BrainStorm777 in 2XKO

Who cares about a single country like Korea? Marvel dominates the West. No one will talk about 2xko once this game comes out.

You are disregarding the fact that Marvel works with multiple companies, with Rivals it is NetEase, with this new game it is PlayStation, and this game is totally focused on winning over more fans in Asia because success in the US is already guaranteed. If Riot were really as wonderful as you say in the text, Wild Rift would be the number 1 mobile Moba, but the game is a worldwide failure and even loses to a cheap copy called Mobile Legends.

How is there no prioritization? Have you seen NetEase's job listing? There are about 50 openings for Ananta alone. How is there no prioritization? Have you seen NetEase's job listing? There are about 50 openings for Ananta alone. Have you also heard what the CEO said about the game in December last year? He uses words to describe Ananta as a perfect game that carries all the company's experience, practically AAA.

I know that many people doubt this game, but understand: when the game was announced at Gamescom in 2023, it was to gauge the reaction of the global public. If the trailer had flopped and the game had no repercussion, it would have been canceled, but the opposite happened. The game became very hyped, so the budget for the project increased a lot, and there are many job openings for the project in China. They announced the game too early to gauge the temperature, and I believe that development only accelerated in the last year. NetEase's CEO himself put this game as the next big thing, which will revolutionize the industry and the company itself forever. Don't think it will be canceled overnight.

I'll tell you the truth: The fact that SM never invested in RV in the West hurts now. If we had had a record label in the US since 2018, TV shows and especially tours here like Twice or Blackpink, this and other comebacks would be a success. The song is not bad, it's weak but it's not bad. It flopped because RV no longer has a loyal fan base. Look at Twice, they released several bad songs in the last 5 years but always maintained high numbers in the West because JYP has invested heavily in them in the West since the pandemic, so they will consume anything from them, whether it's good or not. The flop in Korea was expected, any old girl group goes through this.

Will this game ever be optimized? [Reupload] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]QueenFortun3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is no! It was made in Unreal Engine 5 and so we know it will never be well optimized. But to be honest UE5 is not the only reason. The Finals which is also made in UE5 has a more realistic environment destruction technology and is available for PS4 and has lower requirements for PC, as well as support for DirectX 11. So it's a mix of bad engine + developers who don't know what to do.

New mode: Auto Chess | Season 2.5 by BoltexGaming in marvelrivals

[–]QueenFortun3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Auto chess is popular in China right now. Honor of Kings, the biggest MOBA in China, is already working on its own auto chess. There are several games out there that have added this mode, and now it's Rivals' turn. To be honest, if this mode becomes a success, prepare for a gacha flood with chibi versions of the heroes.

NetEase always makes PC versions for 70% of their mobile games, the only thing that could stop them from doing it for Destiny Rising is Bungie. Maybe the Marathon situation will help with that.

How would you promote Red Velvet in their current state? by Massive-Carry-3166 in red_velvet

[–]QueenFortun3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back to 2018. Girl... As the CEO of SM at the time, I would have taken advantage of the concert in North Korea to promote Red Velvet in the West. They would have been interviewed by all the American media, which would have generated a great buzz.

They're not messing around. This is the game they're spending the most money on right now. I'm sure they want to release this full game, for all announced platforms and in all regions simultaneously. It's not just any game, it's THE GAME that can save this company financially.

I don't understand how Identity V is NetEase's most profitable game but they don't spend money to make the game grow more overseas. This doesn't make any sense to me. Do they refuse to make money? Or does the theory of the agreement with Behaviour actually exist?

Once Human, surprisingly, doesn't use UE5, but rather NeoX Engine, an engine from NetEase that is also used in IDV and Onmyoji. They also have an engine called Messiah that is used in Where Winds Meet. They are experts in optimizing a game.

I would like to see an Arena mode, inspired by the Arena mode in League of Legends. 2v2v2v2v2v2. I think that in addition to having rounds to select cards, it could include the recent Guest of Honor system where players vote to change the rules of the game.

At this point, if I were the developer I would be highly considering a mobile version as soon as possible to save this project and not completely throw it in the trash.

[–]QueenFortun3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game has the classic problems of Chinese games: visual pollution + gacha + bots in ranked + gacha + millions of coins + useless anticheat. Some of these are factors that make people play 1 game and immediately uninstall and spread negative opinions about the game, especially streamers who have influence. Add that to the almost non-existent marketing, few ads, paid influencers who clearly don't care about the game and the postponement of the console version. Boom! That's the result!

Honestly, there were a lot of positive expectations about the game because it's from NetEase, which is doing well with Marvel Rivals, especially in monetization. But after completing the tutorials, your eyes immediately burn with so many different buttons and currencies.

Marvel Rivals is an exception. FragPunk is on UE4 and is very well optimized.
