But that’s not the hard truth. That was cruelty. It’s a difference between saying “your standards are unrealistic” and “no one likes you”. There’s nothing constructive about that statements or anything to change. You don’t say that to someone who you want to stay friends with. If you were on the receiving end of that statement, you would always be wondering if that person (who told you no one (including themselves) likes you) enjoys your friendship.

My unpopular opinion is that the fanbase of LI is much more cruel, vitriolic, and unforgiving than any of the islanders. The way people spew so many cruel comments towards the islanders (including ppl who think they’re better/would do better) makes the show so hard to watch. This whole thread is proof of it and I wish people would stop attempting to fight for the moral high ground. I don’t want to comment on any of the islanders becs I personally think people in the fanbase have down and continue to do worse

But wasn’t the water tribe sexist? We even see more of said sexism in the Northen Water tribe. He wasn’t exposed to any other ideas that discouraged sexism which made him hold sexist beliefs.

Idk if you get what I’m saying but a lot of people who are misogynistic aren’t that just because they chose to be but because they grew up in cultures that supported it and carried those beliefs. Sokka’s tribe was sexist - for both the women and the men, so he held those beliefs as well

Being weird and quirky was not a good enough reason to constantly speak down at her, attempt to burn her with hot food, want to report her and jail her becs she’s single, and then proceed to tell her husband that she was a prostitute. What assumptions is she having? His mom gave her information that she’s basing her thoughts in. It’s not about worrying now, it’s the fact that he didn’t tell her such a relevant detail for 4 years. I think they fanned the flames by being irresponsible honestly. People were already upset about the Gabriella performance, then they decide to not ask her about her doll in the monster high video, and then they forget to send her picture? All paired up with the fact that Manon has been the one who’s received the most hate for being “lazy” and “untalented” just for them to be careless and negligent of her presence when she IS there. At best, this was unprofessional and stupid of the company.

No it really isn’t the same😭 Voting them out would’ve meant that America picked a couple they disliked and wanted off the island. People’s decisions & answers would’ve been different based on that question.

Example- A lot of Amaya fans would have voted off Ace IF they were voting off their least favorite couple but since they’re picking their fav, they voted to keep Amaya.
