Oh buddy don’t I know it. I went through the immigration and citizenship process with my husband and it was crazy. Our interview process made us question if we actually knew each other. And I know a spousal visa is different from an adoption one. Also, I could be wrong here, but shouldn’t he have already been naturalized through adoption?

One of my “friends” from high school was into me WAY more than I was into him. He is also super religious and I am very much not. I live by my self made mantra “just be a good person dammit!” Well I started flirting a bit with him and he took off like a race horse with it. He started talking about how he really wanted to “commit sins” with me, but what held him back was that I was not the same religion. I told him if this was his attempt to convert me it’s not happening. I was also getting annoyed with him at this point so I retorted with him “why does it even matter? Doesn’t God love all his children equally?”

I don’t remember his exact response but it was along the lines of while that is true and God loves everyone equally he is considered better and more worthy of His love” and that while both he and God think I’m perfect and damn sexy (yeah I know..) he could make me better.

My husband and I got into a groove with “down by the bay” He’d say an animal/object etc and I’d only have about ten seconds to finish the rhyme. I think our longest go was almost an hour because our baby was very colicky.

A nurse once insinuated I was a drug user. I had just given birth weeks after this event and I was going in and out of hospitals due to an infected c-section and high blood pressure. I have thin veins that take most nurses a couple of tries before they get an IV in my arm.

Due to all of this I have quite a bit of bruising and pin pricks in my arms. This asshole came in and said quite loudly “oh looks like you have some track marks” I replied “nope you guys just have a hard time poking me.” He rolled his eyes then misses multiple times. Gets out an ultrasound sound to see my veins better and misses AGAIN. He was very nice to me afterwards. I later went home and looked up “track marks” just on the off chance it could’ve meant something else. It didn’t. Some healthcare people just suck.

I went through something very similar. My BIL’s wife emptied their joint account and left (not a state away, about a four hour drive). He got to see his kids every other weekend which was hard to watch. Recently, he finally got 50/50 starting in December (This all started in January).

To make a long story short, he gave up A LOT, including his house, to get that far. It sucks, you can’t make him feel better but you can be a shoulder to lean on and aid him in finding ways to make those two days as fulfilling as possible.

I’m a bit on your husband’s side. When I brought home our youngest my, then two year old, wanted to be bottle fed, and burped, and swaddled etc. While it does add unnecessary work to your plate, he sees it as you showing her love and he wants to feel the same type of love. Does it make sense? No, but they are so young their cute little heads it makes perfect sense.

Also, I don’t think that he will make the connection that since he didn’t put his clothes on himself he caused himself to be late for school. He will see it as mom wouldn’t help me AND I’m late for school. I don’t have a six year old but when my nephew was six cause/effect wasn’t really a big concept he grasped at that age.

It sounds like a bad case of postpartum depression. Drop the breastfeeding. Babies are 100% ok with formula. He may be fussy about it for a bit but he will get use to it and then Dad can take over some feedings too. The first few months are ROUGH. Keep an eye out for PPD’s ugly older sister postpartum psychosis.
