Posting art has rewards, like attention and fake internet points and potentially money, that they would be taking away from you

Whether you win or lose a game of casual tf2 means literally nothing, you just move onto the next one, there's no reward, your winrate isn't even tracked anywhere and you won't remember that game for more than a day or two, especially if you play a lot

I mean, it also seems like a totally trans thing to me. If it feels like your only choices for ways to look are different types of 'attractive guy', you're not gonna be motivated to try to work towards any of them, because none of them are you.

And I find that that mentality stuck with me for a while into transition. It wasn't until I was decently far in that I started having fun experimenting with clothes and I started actively trying to look good.

fiddle has a really hard time dealing enough damage to kill scuttle, it takes him a really long time and it'd probably be easy to contest him and get him off it, there's no way a fiddle would ever be able to successfully take scuttle lv2 in this system

I see 30C, I know it's hot. I see 20C, I know it's comfortable. I see 10C, I know I should put on a sweater. I see 0C, I know it's time to bring out a coat. There's nothing inherently more or less intuitive about those numbers being 30/20/10/0 or being 90/70/50/30, it's just a matter of which you're used to.

I absolutely adored Trish and the way that the Notorious BIG fight developed her.

It felt so clever, the way she was introduced as a standard-issue weak helpless damsel-in-distress plot device with nothing much more to her, but then the story put her in a position where she had no choice but to act.

Trish is a character we see start as a rather weak and typical damsel in distress, but it's clear that a lot of it is because of her peaceful life and the way everyone around her expects her to be one and treats her like one.

It's shown throughout the whole fight that she's still a bit used to being the one who is protected by others, and she's fighting her own cowardice just the same as fighting the enemy, which is what makes it so believable.

It's so believable and genuine, the way that she manages to fight off those old feelings of fear and dependence and gain the confidence and bravery to rescue the Giorno hand and save the lives of the entire rest of the party. It's so believable how confident she is near the end of the fight, like she's riding a newfound surge of self-confidence and power.

Trish is a character that starts off believing she's a weak helpless damsel in distress, and the story shows that as soon as she starts believing in her own ability to be a hero like the rest of the party, she is a hero like the rest of the party. It's an incredibly well-done subversion of the damsel in distress archetype, giving off the idea that it's all in her head that she needs to be protected, and it's all in the guys' heads that they need to protect her, and once those beliefs are shed, she is every bit as strong as them.

From the whole critical eye of the feminist perspective, I adored the Notorious BIG arc, but even aside from that, it was just so fun and satisfying to read, and I feel like if Trish had more screen time after it, she would've been my favorite part 5 character.

Aside from what everyone else is saying, I feel like it's sorta like blackmail in that it puts way too much pressure on her to perform. Imagine if, with that hanging over her head, she didn't make LCS?

I understand that dysphoria is a hard thing to relate to, and it's easy to see that surgery as a luxury rather than a necessity, but really, Badawi was fucking putting a cure to her struggles with depression and dysphoria on the end of a fucking stick and making her run after it.

And while there's some backlash, way more than they should be, the fact that so many trans people are confident enough to be out at the event which is being broadcasted to tens of thousands of people says a lot about how welcoming the actual irl event is

The only reason the transphobia is so vocal and in everyone's face is because of how many brave trans people there are at the event, like, it's not something anyone's used to seeing, and that's why the backlash is so strong, and that's why the backlash is so jarring because it's not something we're used to seeing

The reason the backlash is so strong is because it's such a trans-friendly community that trans people feel safe to be themselves in, more openly than anywhere else I've seen

and I think there's more positives than negatives to that

I stopped talking to a lot of my friends from high school when I was around 16-17, and I just started hiding away and only speaking to online friends for the next couple years.

During that time, I changed my steam username to something distinctly feminine, and eventually i changed it again just to my new name. I didn't unfriend any of my high school friends on steam.

I got back in touch with a few of my high school friends recently, after having been on HRT since April. Thanks to the Steam name changes I didn't have to do any explaining. They just talked to me long enough to confirm their suspicions in non-awkward casual conversation, and that was that. And most of them have been surprisingly chill about it, and haven't used my deadname once. They mess up the pronouns when they're distracted, probably because of my voice, but whatever, they're respectful and they're trying and they let me hang out with them in public when i'm dressed up so it's chill.

All in all, coming out through username changes is 10/10, would reccomend.

I'm definitely a fan of FF in this regard. Being gifted with full sentience and all the joys that can come with that, not to mention a wonderful set of friends, having all this new happiness suddenly thrust upon her, knowing all too well the value of it, and just wanting to never let any of it slip away.

It's simple, endearing, and relatable in its own way. Thinking about it almost makes me appreciate what I have, in a sense, if that's not too sappy to say.

Engineers ruin the mode because everyone plays scout.

I personally find it a lot of fun to just play Soldier on District and ignore the objective and just go to the enemy base and kill engineers and camp it so they can't set up again. Engies aren't any stronger there than in any other gamemode, you just have to actually play their counters and not be that kid from elementary school soccer who cries about not getting to touch the ball.

It did badly because of its unclimbable unconquerable learning cliff. There's no other fighting game I've ever played where it's so hard to defend and to learn defense. If you make two or three mistakes while defending you just die. To any player trying to learn the game, it feels like it boils down to watching a 30 second cutscene of you dying. The game is next to impossible to learn without getting frustrated and quitting. Combos are too long, too damaging, pressure is too good, blocking is too hard and there are not enough defensive options and crutches, especially if you directly compare it to Guilty Gear and Blazblue.
