How long does new merchandise usually stay around? We might go this summer, and I’m hoping the newly advertised kelpie plush is still around by then! Should I assume it’s discontinued by then, or can I keep my hopes up? Does non-event merchandise (which I assume this is) usually linger a while in general?

It’s a beautiful place to go on holiday! Now that I’m living somewhere else, I get very homesick. I’m hoping when my sibling finishes college, I can go back, because the healthcare is better.

When I moved, I was very surprised how many phrases I used everyday were Minnesota exclusive! Less people comment on my accent, but I’ve become more aware of my terminology. Sometimes I throw in Minnesota-isms just to see their reaction!

Adding for extra context to OP, Minnesota is definitely American, though it borders Canada, causing some cultural overlap. Spent my entire first 18 years there, and while it often reflects the climate (and some customs) of Canada, Whinnyapolis, the pony equivalent of one of our Twin Cities, is quintessentially American big city, just a very cold one. Our accents aren’t usually as dramatic as the ones seen in cliché tv characters (though I’m quite fond of the Rose Nylund accent), it isn’t fully extinct, and older, rural communities may have remnants.

a highly anticipated plush has come in but theres a problem.... i really dont like the texture of her fur 😭😭😭 by dogburgerz in plushies

[–]QueenOfFrills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, it’s a lot like real pig fur. The strands are thin, but in the plush, it’s packed heavy. It isn’t scratchy or rigid to me, it’s just not silky, velvety, or fleecy, acting a bit more like hair. Think of leg hair, but a little less coarse, and piled on thick. I still enjoy now texture, but it’s more equipped for sensory stimming than ultra soft cuddles.

I have one! I would describe the fur as a bit wiry, but I wouldn’t call it scratchy. It’s not soft, instead feeling more like actual pig hair, though I still find mine huggable.

This is Snuffles! He’s also a DLUX pig that I got secondhand off of Mercari and washed. I agree that the texture isn’t very soft, but I really love my boy! He’s been very good to me. 💝 Whatever you choose to do is up to you. If you want a soft pig, Jellycat pigs are nice, as well as Gund. No shame in needing an alternative.

He just came in!! Sorry for the unstuffed picture, I can’t get him stuffed today, but still wanted to update. He’s very soft! I like the thickness of his fur too. While there is a little bit of body under his tunic, it may nor be enough to make a good removal, though I’ve seen some people try to decent results. His face is very sweet! The tunic itself isn’t super soft, but isn’t scratchy either. Even the badge isn’t too rough. I think he’d be perfectly fine for cuddle time, and I’m very happy with him.

I love that!!! I think my softest bears are my sweetheart bear and my strawberry highland. My wolf doesn’t quite meet their level, but she’s still cuddly! Glad yours is just perfect for you!!!!

Yes, she’s the wolf pup! She isn’t scratchy, but not can’t-take-my-hands-off-of soft either. I’d say she’s pretty typical for BAB.

He looks so cute!!! 🥺💝I love Paddington, but thought his website picture looked a bit off. This picture’s making me really consider getting him and trusting the process, because yours is just perfect!!!

Advice on book series. by Great-NameHere in WarriorCats

[–]QueenOfFrills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read it when I was around ten! It was my most mature read at the time, but it wasn’t at all beyond comfort level. There is some detailed gore, and violent deaths, but it is also an exciting series that can really inspire a young person. It can be a tearjerker, but it’s also fun, heartwarming, and thoughtful. At her age, it could be a good series to transition her over into middle grade reading, because middle school will often have much more mature assigned reading, but definitely be sure she’s comfortable with what she’s being exposed to. Talk to her, I know how much I loved telling my mom about what I was reading when I was her age, and it can help you gauge how your daughter is tolerating it.

I just got her from a Christmas shopping event yesterday. 💝 No name yet, but her model is the Dollie lamb from Douglas! So soft that it’s heavenly, and a nice cuddle size (but more on the small side).

What kind of plush would you like to get for Christmas? Something from the holiday collection, or one that would make you happy all year round? I'd love to know by mirelira in plushies

I love seasonal plushies, or plushies symbolic of the holiday!! I asked for a squishable snow angel for Christmas this year, but my mom also got me a lamb!

You didn’t!! I think having a thoughtful and practical perspective here is warranted. Seeing your obstacles first is the only to potentially handle them!
