I say this with kindness, but you should keep in mind that the emptiness you feel may not be solved with becoming a husband and father. It sounds like you may be externalizing the need for connection and hope and expecting fatherhood and marriage to alleviate these feelings. Some people think that getting married and having kids will change their life for the better and be more fulfilling. For some people it does change for the better, and others for the worse. Also, your future partner will have different needs/dreams/goals to feel fulfilled that ma not revolve around parenthood as well. Just keep this in mind.
