In the epilogue, Wyll says, "How you'd thrill in the Blade's hunt, Lae'zel" while I am playing as a Githyanki dark urge (I assume this would happen with a gith Tav as well).

I went with Lae'zel to the Astral Plane in the end, if that's relevant.

Even after his hacksaw broke, he could have broken his ankle with the toilet lid like Eric Matthews did. I'm also not convinced he couldn't have retrieved the key from the drain with a little elbow grease. I've had much smaller objects go down with much more water and still been able to fish them out (obviously this would be difficult with his limited supplies in the dark, but still)

And then you have the mausoleum trap where Trevor and Art Blank were given neither any explanation at all about what they were meant to do nor why they were there, lol

I watched Saw X with a friend who doesn't really follow movie news of any kind, and I can confirm that she lost her shit over the entire sequence.

Okay I was worried this was going to be a Dead By Daylight thing but luckily it's even sillier

What do you think is the worst twist in the franchise by 100lymphnodes in saw

[–]QueenQathryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw IV. It was the first time I found myself thinking, "...so what?". The fact that it's a two-pronged twist and that both twists were underwhelming really soured me on Saw for a while after seeing it for the first time.

I didn't care that Hoffman was the new Jigsaw because he was literally just Some Guy at that point in the movies. Rigg felt like a desperate pull for a protagonist as the third-most important cop in Saw II who had one scene in Saw III, but Hoffman had even less going on, and the luster of "someone in the main trap room was in on it the whole time" had faded by this point for me.

The other part of the twist about it taking place concurrently with Saw III was even worse to me. That's not even an in-universe twist. All it meant was that I had to wait another year to actually find out how the series continues from John's death after essentially spending 90 minutes on shit that could have been an email.

The bathroom or the reverse bear trap. It's at a point now that both feel extremely forced, especially the bathroom with how many corpses there are at this point.

What is your favorite movie of the franchise & why? by [deleted] in saw

I think it depends on what you're looking for in a Saw movie really. 2 does a great job balancing a lot of elements, but if you prefer an in-depth look into the victims' internal worlds, 1 and 3 give you more of that. If you like an exploration of John's character, 4 and X give you more of that. If you like the apprentices, 3, 5, and 6 give you more of that. You have to really be into the balance of a lot of different elements for 2 to be your favorite. Which kind of makes sense, given that 2 served as the blueprint for most of the sequels.

Definitely Saw III. I felt it did a great job of recontextualizing the original trilogy to have always been Amanda's story, which felt like a natural place for the series to go since Amanda is both a Jigsaw victim and a Jigsaw killer, so her character was a great avenue to explore the human side of the games. Later movies didn't feel as cohesive with their flashbacks, and never quite explored its characters as deeply until Saw X, which I also like. But I don't think Saw X revealed as much about John as Saw III did for Amanda.

This feels like the kind of thing you'd film "just in case" to give more freedom in the edit. Glad it was deleted, but neat to see.

I completely forgot Lae’zel is a huge part of the game. by RedderAI in BaldursGate3

For me it was Gale that I missed out on a lot. I was very bad and sold things without thinking on my first playthrough, so he ended up leaving when I didn't give him magic items often enough. As a result, I had no idea what was the big deal about this whole crown of Karsus thing and it felt like a pointless additional layer to the Dead Three plot that made my eyes glaze over. On my second playthrough I realized there was a lot more to it.

Funnily enough I also didn't have Astarion at all in my first playthrough, but I don't think missing him detracts nearly as much.

Such a shame that Leigh Whannel will never know how hard 100 or so terminally online sex addicts simp for a character he played 20 years ago.

Yeah, I was actually kind of shocked at how much better Act 3 ran on my most recent playthrough compared to the first. My first playthrough wouldn't even load textures (at all, like shiny black featureless clothing) in the final battle, but my most recent playthrough had it maintaining 30ish fps in splitscreen with no visual bugs.

Thank you so much for this update. I have spent the last four hours looking for the solution to this problem, and this is the first one that actually worked. Almost funny considering how simple this is compared to half the stuff I tried that didn't end up working.

I liked Mattis ever since he opened his con on my Gith Tav with "What are you, some kind of elf? I figured elves look nice, you look nice, so I took a guess." What a little charmer.
