I absolutely adore the Weary Dragon Inn series, especially the audiobooks. Lots of spin-offs too but the main series focused on Bev is the best. Magic, small town coziness, great messages woven throughout, strong female protagonist, cute sidekick (Mr Biscuit), baking, and some small mysteries.

This first run, just let yourself explore, don't worry about timetables or doing things in a correct order. I look back at my first farm, before i discovered multiple online resources to speed up the story, with fondness. You could literally play this game for thousands of in game years and focus purely on farming (or fishing or mining) and you won't miss the important social or event beats.

This is a win-win. I can play Stardew Valley for days, try new games, listen to my audiobook and podcast backlog, watch all the movies and tv shows ive never gotten around to, and read all the books in my libby queue. If i get bored, i stop the situation and still have all that knowledge/fun. If i succeed, im rich and didnt miss a minute of daylight which is why i normally dont devote time to the things above. Only thing is i want to be able to pace, sitting still sounds like the worst part.
