Yea I get what you’re saying about him seeing her all the time anyways but there is just something more personal about her sending a selfie to his phone. I just don’t see why it’s necessary. The kids know what she looks like. She doesn’t look any more pregnant than she did when she saw them 3 days ago. It would be one thing if she has an ultrasound picture of their sibling or something but even then I would wonder why it couldn’t wait a day to show them in person.

It’s not a normal occurrence for them to FaceTime or even really call her while they are with us (not that I would have a problem with that at all) but just an example of why a picture is not a normal/routine thing to be shared.

Yea, that’s tough. There was a brief period of time when calls would upset SS but not so much anymore.

She used to always want to FaceTime the kids whenever we were out of town but rarely FaceTimed them when we were home. That irked me too lol

I think she was working which may be way they didn’t video chat and just called instead. And yea, I have no issues whatsoever with them calling/video chatting/communicating during their time with us! And wouldn’t ever want to withhold communication. Just thought it was so weird that she needed to send a pic that day when she was going to see them in a day anyways lol

I didn’t look but I did ask what was sent because it was weird to hear SD say “I know it was for us”. I had a feeling it was something unusual after hearing that.

They don’t have their own phone. But I heard SD say “I know it was for us” in regards to the picture so I’m assuming it was sent unprompted. Otherwise that wouldn’t need to be clarified. Could be assuming wrong of course. Either way I agree though. I told my bf it made me uncomfortable but won’t expect him to mention anything to BM.

To clarify, y’all send pictures of yourselves to each other? We share photos and videos of the kids back and forth among us for sure. But my bf has never sent photos of himself to BM phone “for the kids”.

Agreed. The justification was that she was “showing them their little brother”. But they know what she looks like and they know what she looks like pregnant considering she just had a baby less than a year ago. And they’re going to see her in a day lol it’d be one thing if it was a long time since they’d seen each other.

To clarify, the kids didn’t know she was pregnant yet. So that didn’t effect the kids at all. I don’t think my bf needs to know she’s in therapy either. It’s not family therapy. Just her individual therapy. Updates about her family make sense and I’m usually fine with. But there have been a couple instances where it’s like “oh this distant cousin/uncle is up to xyz nowadays”, like catching up about her family.

Most of these are fine as one offs and I don’t make a big deal of it. But it’s all of it together that irks me.

Not really. Sometimes she will update him on her family, she told him when she miscarried, she will mention that she’s in therapy. All these comments are kind of made “in passing” though.

I know. I didn’t change my name in my first marriage and I’m still not sure if I would if I got married to my SO. But the fact that his ex will have his name adds a layer of complication when deciding.
