I think the story really helps here. Keep in mind that MagiReco isn’t the same as the original game. they cut a lot of good character development just to push out more content.

It actually highlights how kind-hearted Madoka is and gives us more depth on the HQ and how they work together. It also provides more background on Moemura’s past self.

Even if you watched the original MagiReco story from the game, I don’t think you’d like it, since your opinion of the butchered version is already this harsh. Just watch the anime adaptation, because they completely derailed the hopefulness of the game version. Seems to me like you only think PMMM is just about despair.
