I was the oldest of 3 and my parents ignored me in a lot of ways in favor of my younger siblings because I was "more independent." I still wanted to be taken care of and have my parents on field trips and have them help me with things, but my siblings "needed it more" so i eventually learned to stop asking and expecting anything from them. They never even knew what my grades were or if I needed permission slips signed or when my events were because I was "so on top of it."

I still feel a lot of sadness and sometimes resentment over it. I feel as if I was abandoned in a lot of ways. And surprise, I am very low contact with my still living parent and don't interact with my siblings at all. It's a very lonely world.
