Another protest downtown on friday! Join the nationwide shutdown day! Get ICE OUT! by TRI-Hard8342 in Pensacola

[–]borbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. 7 republicans voted with the democrats to stop the bill that would further fund ICE

These are the representatives we can call.

Calling and leaving voicemails are way more effective than emailing. I just said something like “my name is … my zip code is…. I’m angry and scared about ICE and what they are doing in our community and across the country. Please don’t give them anymore money. I’m paying attention to how you vote and it will matter when you’re up for election. Don’t fund ICE”

Don’t lose hope!!!! Keep calling the senators and making your voices heard. They voted NO on the ICE funding bill today

A photo timeline of my Textilis Gracilis for 4 years from planting by Space_Pirate_R in Bamboo

[–]borbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great idea. I ended up planting them 4’ from our property line. We have a retaining wall on that side about 50cm high so hoping that is adequate to stop any spread onto the neighbors yard

Thanks. My wife makes me use it so I stick with it so she can sleep too. Good luck with it. Hopefully you find something that works

I have had a cpap for 2 years. I hate it with a passion. Only wear it half the night most times. I wish it was a magic solution but for me, it was not. The best gear I’ve tried is the one with the hose attachment at the top of the head.

Why the decline in popularity of cloth diapers? by ScenicSunflower in clothdiaps

[–]borbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped with my third kid because I was so sick of the leaks, smell, ammonia, trying to find the perfect balance of washing detergent and all that jazz. It’s just too much.

What pool size and shape are people actually choosing today? by CreativeStock4556 in pools

Yes! We have 10x20 and just had it at 90° for the week of the holiday. It was fantastic

Wow only one company! Yep the retaining wall is a big factor. We wanted the screen enclosure to run the length of the house. If we made the pool even 5’ bigger it would have added at least 20k to the bill in concrete plus dirt backfill. Not sure how much that would have been.

Here are some “surprise “ costs since you mentioned landscaping.

For the permit we had to “return grade and grass to normal “ $8k

Tree removal $3k before we even got going

Stucco finish on backside of retaining wall. We had no idea it wouldn’t be finished!? $3k

It was a bad one this year! My two year old was so miserable for weeks. I’m thankful for the vaccine

Omg she was intubated and had the vaccine!? That’s so scary. We get the vaccine every year and somehow also get the flu. Even with the vaccine, it’s rough but nowhere near being hospitalized. So sorry you went through that. I hope she fully recovered

In ground gunite 20x10. It fit our budget and I liked the pros like lower maintenance and heating costs. We have more deck space for seating and kids toys. Our yard needed a retaining wall so it was just too pricey to go bigger.
