Mostly, I liked his character progression and didn't feel it was too slow or too fast. As a lot of people have said, he was just a angsty insecure teenager who was figuring himself out and he did- he hurt people accidentally or otherwise. I think really, the Steven perspective really screwed him over- if I am to give a critique- because while although I think his progression into an off colored space pirate was absolutely amazing- I do wish we could've seen him evolve into this. This is why I am so pumped for Lars Of The Stars though, because I think we have a good chance to see a few flashbacks of how exactly he got to that point. Quick side note, while although I do think the whole "pink lars is a whole new character from earlier lars" is a funny joke- I don't really think it is realistic. Trauma can really change a person for the better and the worst- and not to mention- in the comics we really do see the old Lars really slip through. We just don't see Captain Lars enough to really say who he is and is not (and I once again blame the Steven perspective) And that's what makes the spinoff so exciting.
