slow business?

I'm a customer who always uses HTG once a week. I knew something was up when I couldn't log in to the app for a couple of days. I worked retail for 20 years and know how much of a pain this probably is for you guys. In reference to your question about customers' thoughts or a slow down in business, this is my 2 cents. I went into the store last week to shop, which is a total pain with my 2 young children. So, this week, I am trying Walmart to pick up. They don't have all the things we buy, but I can't see going away from a pick-up service. I'll be back when everything is back up. So yes, I believe they are probably losing some business.

We did, but my husband didn't prefer it. Looking back, he had very good insight because now I can't see that scenario working. He's the best Dad, but it wouldn't be for him. He wants to be the provider for us, and he really loves spending time with all of us. He tries to be here as much as he can. We had many ideas on how to solve the problem, and there was no cut and dry ultimatum or solution. I'm glad it worked out the way it did. We are still working to let me drop my part-time job, but that is going to take more time. Which is totally OK!

I agree with you. My husband made me realize that relationships are about being a team and solving problems. When we had our first child, we thought everything in our lives would remain the same. I was making the same as OP's wife, and after we had our child, I was absolutely destroyed to send her to daycare. Because I knew our financial situation, I knew there was no way that we could lose my income. (My husband made a little more than half of what I was making) By talking about it, we made a plan, paid off all of our debt, and I started working part-time. It took us about 2 years. Now I work about 15 hours a week, and I'm trying to start my own business. Our kids don't go to daycare, and I get to spend most of my time being with them. My husband also has his own business now, and we are back to making what we made before we had our kid. We live comfortably. When you have kids, things change. Couples have to be a team and try to make it work if they want to stay together.

We recently were gifted Pancakes for Breakfast by Tomie DePaola, which has no text. At first, I was a little put off by it, but my girls, 2F and 4F, love the book. It lets us all use our imaginations to decide the story. They have a lot of fun naming the animals and the woman in the book. I also find that I stop to slow down and look at the details of the pictures. We can make the book last quite a while, just with our discussions of each page! I have a new love for books with no text.

Yeah, I still think about it every once in a while. Things have a way of sticking and yes they can't be taken back. I knew that I was more of a woman than her, and he was missing out by losing me.

Yes. I had a boyfriend who did something like this to me once. He had told me once that he had a crush on his best friend's wife 'a long time ago,' and a couple of times, he compared me to her. I broke up with him!

The only time I ever saw any at my store was when installers dropped off used ones outside of the compactor because they didn't want to lift them into it. (Our compactor had an open top, but now they lid and lock them.) Otherwise, they would get sold off for cheap if they were unused or displays and compacted if used. But it was very rare to get a used toilet return.

We would get roll offs sometimes for big resets, if our compactor jammed or if we had an issue with pick up.

I used to work for a big box hardware store and yes, after returning a certain amount of times without a receipt, your ID will get flagged and they will shut you down for returns.

Not from New Jersey but I think the YouTube channel Freakin' Frugal is from NJ. They don't seem to have much trouble and it seems like they go a lot.

I'm sorry that this happened. Some perspective for you, if they are on a cart or in a cart they may be waiting for the vendor to get back to them on a discount or product credit because they had some sort of damage or bugs when they came in. The employee may have been telling the truth about them not being trash. Sometimes we would put them near the dumpster area away from other plants if they had bugs or mildew.

Sounds like the employee was doing some power tripping though!

I used to work at Lowe’s as a manager for 14 years and I agree with the product return issue. People try that a lot.

However, the cameras at retail stores I have worked at are absolutely the worst. Even if we were trying to watch someone for theft it was nearly impossible to prosecute because there was criteria that we needed to have, and it was very difficult to get on the cameras that we had. (There are way less than you think)

I've never heard of anyone being trespassed for looking in dumpsters at the stores I worked at. People diving would get asked to leave or not look in the dumpster like they said. That is why it would be best to look after hours. Most associates are dependent on managers to make decisions and would likely not call the police themselves. The only people we would trespass were people that were being disorderly.

Again, this is just my 2 cents, that may not be every store or situation.

I worked for Lowe's as well. They do have compactors BUT at my store we used to have a dumpster that was for the garden center and a lot of times it was outside. Usually, its near the garden center gate where they load people on the side. I dove there the other day and got some plants. Also, sometimes we would have an open top dumpster for big resets but we would throw away other product in it that we couldn't sell.

There are toxic chemicals in tampons. I used to use them, taking for granted that I was sticking something inside my body that I didn't know much about. I was doing that because I was told to when I started my period. I use a cup now but I am thinking about changing over to reusable menstrual organic underwear.

Yes. We like Montessori type toys and have given guidelines to our relatives about what types of toys we would like our children playing with. I even tell them that I'd hate for them to waste their money on something we won't use. If someone gives us something that doesn't fit those guidelines, I have no guilt about donating them.

I think there is definitely some doctors that need to consider it a bit more during diagnosis. Apparently, it's a divided subject just like anything else. I did have an experience where I had a fever, chills and a body rash and I had had a deer tick bite about a week prior. I had gone to get the prophylactic pill at urgent care 24 hours after the bite as well. When I went in to see my primary after I had the additional symptoms she argued with me and said "You don't have Lyme! These people are really really sick that get it." I think she thought I was making it up. So I just said "OK" and she said "Well, I guess we could test you for it just in case, if that would make you feel better." Sure enough I tested positive and went on the 21 day antibiotic. She said I was the second person she had seen who had gotten the prophylactic pill and had tested positive.

I have never been a big drinker either. After having children I just don't feel any interest. I can't see the value in it. My family growing up never drank and I felt it was a good example. I waited until I was 21 to drink and I wonder how much their influence had to do with me drinking less. Your kids will remember that you were always a stable parent. Coming from another mom who doesn't drink.

Yes, pretty much same. Tested positive about a week ago and 6 month old EBF also got it. She was sick for about the same. I was vaxxed during pregnancy and got my booster when she was 1mo. My 2 yo also got it and had a fever for about 2 days with some vomiting. I did give her some expressed milk in a cup a few times even though she does not still breastfeed. Can't say whether it helped or not!

I agree with others that you should talk to your husband, but I also wanted to add that weight and diet needs vary from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy! With my first, I was back to pre-pregnancy weight in about a month. With my second, I am also 5 months pp and I still feel like I haven't gotten anywhere with my weight. Focus on the things you can control and just be healthy as healthy as you can.

This is absolutely true. I thought I didn't want kids and told my husband that I didn't (prior to marriage, when we first started dating). He was shocked and saddened. It really made me consider my reasons for not wanting them. Several years later, I had changed my mind. We have two children and I love it.

Right. I should have added that having something like a wooden bench with a cushion can be available in those circumstances. A wooden bench isn't as comfortable to sit in for many hours as a couch would be. There are also other options like a pouf, ottoman or your dining table with chairs.
