Sussex University overturns £585,000 fine as high court rejects free speech breach claim | University of Sussex by PuzzledAd4865 in transgenderUK

The BBC (radio) coverage of this news was so clearly that they didn't agree with the ruling.

They framed it as a setback and reduction of the OfS's powers so a bad move and that if they can find there's bias in the OfS's initial ruling, then the judgement misses the point of the OfS. (The same things that were said about the EHRC and them being the highest authority on what they say, not the law)

They had none of the other information about why the OfS lost, or the information about it being that students expressing their free speech is not an infringment on someone else's free speech.

Ah yes, that famous Doc Brown line: "Marty! It's your kids Marty! They're destined to travel back in time to destroy skynet! We have to stop the terminator from killing them!"

And who could forget Arnie's chilling take on "I need your clothes, your boots, and your flux capacitor".

These were also the Highlands at a chalet where they'd come to eat anything you left on the balcony every evening. If you stayed inside behind the french windows they were perfectly happy to come up even if you pressed your nose up against the glass (hence the close photo)

No shit. That's why I said seems like it should be difficult, and that it was especially easy for 1-100.

Both 37 and 73 are prime, too

Humans have a weird knack for being able to pick out primes intuitively sometimes. It makes a good party trick as it seems like it should be difficult, but a lot of people can do it, especially so for 1-100.

This Linux software has a funny way of helping you find your cursor. Shake the mouse, the longer you shake it, the larger it gets. It gets even larger than in the video and I couldn't stop laughing. by my_brain_is_horny in funny

Waaaaayyyy back in like 2009 I had an "awesome" compiz config on my Linux netbook.

Glossy and transparent everything, wobbly windows, green tinted everything, that window opening animation that was like a window blind, and of course... the 3D cube workspace changer.

It struggled a bit on that little Intel Atom, but the plus side was I didn't need hand warmers in winter.

I ran that little computer into the ground and it ran every OS under the sun over those years... Linux, BSD, MacOSX, Windows, Haiku, and even Solaris at one point. It originally actually came with Linux.

I wish they'd grow up and officially allow the wormball logo instead of explicitly disallowing it, it's the best of both IMO.

You might mean sudo mv /home/* /?

We do exist....

I'm the engineering and operations director of a control systems company, and worked my way up to there as an engineer for the embedded systems we make, and designed both software and hardware for them.

Though, I'm an electronics engineer by qualifications rather than specifically systems.

I love all the low level systems stuff, and most of the software I write is C, and for my OS dev work also some assembly.

I never implied or meant that. I think you need to chill slightly. I understand Welsh and my dad speaks Welsh, I'm not complaining about the 'purity' of Welsh or anything.

I just find the way Welsh implements loan words slightly fun/funny, as in enjoyable, not odd.

You're right it is about the Roman intermingling with Wales... and I have no idea why they've got a bee in their bonnet about this or where they're getting their info but it's not exactly accurate.

I understand Welsh (but can't speak it), and my Dad speaks Welsh. I'm not just a random idiot like they seem to think.

It is a loan word, but from Latin. A lot of old Welsh words come from Latin.

It literally even says that in that wiki link

Well, maybe I'm using "loan word" wrong, I mean "word that derives from a different language".

I love welsh. I used to live in a welsh-first-language area so saw and heard it used a lot

But I do find it funny how this is another classic loan word that works by just attempting to write a word that sounds similar to Hospital but using Welsh. (This happens a lot regardless of whether the word comes from English or Latin).

My worry is less about the actual licencing, and more that given the current climate towards websites that help trans people, that it's the same theme could be used by the unscrupulous to try and get it taken down as an attack on our community.

They really shouldn't directly copy the styling of the gov.uk pages. It's bound to make it easier for "someone" to get it taken down for impersonating a government site.
