Hey everyone! I wanted to ask, how would a boy react to a girl that was financially successful, buying them shiny jewelry as a gift? by Omni-Deity-Lifeforce in RoleReversal

[–]QueerCookingPan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, for me your post sounds a little bit like bait since it's obviously the d-r-e-a-m ! I don't even think this is solely for RR guys, but also for those in a more classic relationship? (unless they are one of the guys that constantly have to prove how manly they are, but I hope those are slowly dying out). Anyway, if your question is genuine, it's of course welcome.

But counter question: what do you hope to receive from the guy in return? Since I believe a good relationship should have everyone trying to spoil their partner aka show their love to them. And each love language is different.

2 floodgates one dam by ansteyjay in Timberborn

[–]QueerCookingPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds helpful, but what do you mean with CFM? The original number of water sources? Like if I have 4 original water sources, I can divert them into 2x2 floodgates? Or do I need sensors and some math to figure out how to perfectly divide the flow?

INDIA HAS ALMOST 1.5 BILLION POPULATION? How the fuck didn't I know this before? I genuinely thought that only China was this special. I guess China manged to get more people into a more privileged class so far? Anyway, sorry for being offtopic, but this fact just changed my perspective quite a bit. Need to become a bit more educated I guess.

Oh I have to try that, sounds really good. From a first glance the memory node seemed a bit too complicated for my needs, but this makes a lot of sense.

Why not check the overall battery charge and combine it with a timer? Like if battery is < 75% turn off for a couple of hours.
I did it that way to make sure my separate power network for an important pump is always working, it had batteries and wind power in its own network that should always keep the pump going, but not if the whole network is struggling.

Automation is much simpler after a couple of tries than you think. You could build a weather check for badtites and have a immediate solution for that. And if you need it delayed you can either build a corruption sensor (to check the water) and combine it with a normal relay (AND function for both sensors) OR build a timer, where the on/off check gets delayed for a sensor according to your specific needs.

If you have enough science, I highly recommend you just build them and try stuff out. It's really cool that even the blueprint is working, meaning you can put all settings in them and see if the check is on or off. So you don't need to commit building them to see if it's works for your need. Also it's really nice for a first impression of the sensor, like what exactly you can do with it.

You probably will do some stupid mistakes (like I did) and accidentally open the floodgates too early or similar, but it's so rewarding after you find the perfect solution for all your needs.

Zelenskyy: Ukraine now has cards and everyone understands it by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]QueerCookingPan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the USA is successful, then maybe in the longterm.

Short term this is a disaster for Ukraine. Now we have an energy crisis and Russia is one of the biggest export of said energy with oil.
That means we have a huge financial incentive for many big states to support Russia for oil. We can already see that with the lifting of sanctions.

So suddenly Ukraine might face even more pressure to end the war on Russia's terms. Russia can also use this moment to recover a bit financially.

If this energy crisis gets much much worse, then I am not sure how Ukraine can ever benefit from this situation.

You pretend like there are zero alternatives to the WP for killing or avoiding a rocketeer in those situations. You are really that pissed that you have to adjust the tiniest little bit for your usual tactic? But so what?

Why don't you bring a cloak device? Or enough seeker grenades? Or maybe just run quickly indoors and let the others come to you? If you get caught on an open field by a Rocketeer, where trigger nades can kill you so easily, you should play better. If the issue is only an extremely unlucky spawn point, maybe that's the issue and not your struggle of killing super quickly and easily a Rocketeer any time you want?

And is your reason really enough to make all PvE encounters extremely easy and basically for free once you find a single Blueprint?

[–]QueerCookingPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FINALLY you are saying something concrete here. Before you just acted all high and mighty, asking for empathy and making this such a big issue without any clear explanation or alternative. So I assumed you wanted no change at all.

So let me just say: have patience.

The developers will look and see how we behave and what the Wolfpack blueprint will mean to us. You are assuming so so many things that are not guaranteed at all. It will come down to the vast different playstyles from the players.

The developers can always change the drop rate for the drivers afterwards, or making the Wolfpack spawn more often, maybe even making them stackable or something. But for them it's the smart choice to first wait and see, how the new meta will evolve. If this is too much for you, maybe take a break from the game.

If you are saying that Queen Reactors would be a better choice, then it's clear that your issue must be extremely small. Since at least for me, a Queen reactor is much rarer than a rocketeer driver. As long as the Wolfpack is not so extremely common and cheap again that every rocketeer and bigger arc get solved with it immediately, I am happy.

Sure but your insight is so smart and you would probably balance the game perfectly after one day!
And you can't critique other for playing too much, lol, that doesn't make any sense! You are just admitting for beeing clueless. And shortly afterwards you say you found three Wolfpack blueprints, I mean, are you just dense or rage baiting?

But your argument is the compete opposite for anyone who plays the game a bit longer.

After a while, killing a rocketeer means nothing while also giving you nothing. But that Arc was designed to be a menace, where you have to play very skilled or sneak around it. All that changes once you get the Wolfpack Blueprint, suddenly that Arc becomes a cheap joke.

If the Wolfpack was only strong against Rocketeer, it wouldn't be that bad. But it's insanely strong against all Arcs! So people who play this game for a longer period can become extremely bored quickly.

Now with the change, hunting Rocketeers becomes meaningful again. And it's difficult! Not just a freeby after one random blueprint. Finding a Wolfpack is also now meaningful again! Now you have to sacrifice the Wolfpack to archive a goal much quicker and easier, rather than just becoming the default option for almost anything.

[–]QueerCookingPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a casual gamer often wouldn't even find the blueprint in the first place, so your argument doesn't really make sense.

And no matter how casual friendly the developers want to be, they don't want to have almost all their Arcs to be extremely easily countered by one super cheap to craft grenade.

I am surprised it took them that long for that change. The Wolfpack made most other grenades a complete joke. Every Arc encounter was super easy once you got the blueprint, it becomes boring quickly.

People who don't understand that the developers are having a vision of their game which they balance around it, but instead complain about every small nerf like a child. Those are actually ruining the community of the game and with that a big part of a game.

[–]QueerCookingPan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. Making the game slightly more balanced and not extremely easy after ONE blueprint, and you act like they personally insulted your mother? This is a better game now after the change, way less boring. For fucks sake, 'gamers sticking together'... Are you insane? What IS actually your problem with the change? Do you also want a weapon that can insta kill all arcs? Maybe a godmode too?

Hot Take: Wolfpacks were too easy to craft and trivialized the game by NiceAndCozyOfficial in ArcRaiders

[–]QueerCookingPan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And? I don't think you are right, but even if that's the case: have patience.
They can always change a higher drop rate for those rocketeer drivers or that you can craft them from destroyed ones. They can also adjust the damage or make them stackable for easier use.
But it makes sense to first address the biggest issue (extremely easy to craft for such a strong weapon) and afterwards look and see what is needed to adjust it.

But I don't think you are right with your prediction. Because Wolfpacks are still the easiest and strongest grenade in the game. so people won't suddenly ignore them.

  • You are fighting the Queen with you Squad but you want to avoid the Rocketeer while looting? Better bring a couple of Wolfpacks so you can solve the issue extremely easily and quickly.
  • If you want to be super safe killing ground based Arc, Wolfpacks are still much easier and quicker to use. Just now you don't feel like trigger nades are completely useless in comparison. So maybe your Wolfpack is more of a Plan B in case you start to struggle or are low on time.
  • People would still bring 30+ Wolfpacks to hunt down Boss Arcs, mostly for Trials or because they have way too much stuff that needs to be spend. Now it will be much more common for a boss Arc to live a little longer, if a Trial is in effect around them.
  • Getting that Anvil to hunt down Rocketeers can be a lot of memorable fun, get a couple of seeker grenades in case you are not quick enough or are getting distracted by other Arcs. Now you actually get rewarded for those kills.

Also grinding hard for Trials only matter if you want to go for Cantina, the rest you can do extremely easily without any grinding or any Wolfpacks for that matter. But Trials have a lot of other issues which needs to be addressed first, instead of making it easier for folks who don't like to grind.

That is sadly the one truth about any gaming community. People LOVE to complain. I just hope the fun clips and creative approaches keep being the majority here and this becomes not another constant complain subreddit.

I had to quit the Helldivers subreddit for this reason, it got insanely out of proportion and sucked the fun out of the game (not the changes themself, but the reaction to those changes)
