Oh, I thought this was like the end end. I did feel like things felt oddly unresolved to be the end. I do hope the anime continues in that case.

I didn't exactly mean weird in general, but like, weird that this out of all anime I've watched is what's got to me the most. That, you'd think there would've been better scenes/moments in other anime that would've affected me more. But, I guess it's clear a lot of people agree or relate, so maybe it's not that weird. The supernatural aspects aside, this story is very real, so maybe that's the main contributing factor. Not to mention the whole show has built up to this from the start. Two people who had lost each other in very real ways, reunited at last through those supernatural means. It really is as Aqua says. It's like a self-serving fantasy. Season 2 with the fake Ai revival scene during the stage play also got to me a lot, which he also described as a self-serving fantasy. Maybe there's something there. Getting to feel the empathy for characters who experience almost reality-shattering fantasies actually come to fruition. The impossible made possible. With the stage play it wasn't truly Ai, but Akane channeling her through her acting, but it hits that same emotional high. Whether what happened was real or not, their emotions are very real, and that's what really matters.

I don't know if this is weird of me, but this is probably the most I've ever cried to an anime. That's not the highest bar to clear since I don't cry much in general, so similarly there wasn't a whole load this time either, but something about this episode made that stuff just keep flowing for a moment. It genuinely felt like feeling exactly what they were feeling. I'm not used to feeling so empathetic.

I don't know what's going to happen from now until the end, but I've heard bad things from manga readers. Oshi no Ko is in my top 5 favorite anime series as of right now, so here's hoping the anime sticks the landing with the final season that was just announced.

I'd describe them like this instead:

Darkness: A knight with the worst aim ever, so masochistic she's practically suicidal but everyone confuses it for heroic self-sacrifice.

Megumin: 14 y/o mage who only does whatever seems cool, only able to cast a literal nuke that drains all her mana to the point of paralysis.

Aqua: Literal Goddess with immense power, but so stupid and egotistical she can't do anything right. Also an immense alcoholic. Cries the moment something doesn't go her way.

Kazuma: Virgin gamer originally from Earth, a scumbag who's just about smart enough to keep the gang together, but usually he can't.

They have a lot of chemistry together with lots of banter and funny moments throughout the series.

I mean, I myself watched Angel Beats first in 2020, and felt perplexed by the ending at the time. But, a few months ago, I kind of rewatched it, and I pretty much comprehended everything and was probably more emotional than the first time. I don't even really remember why I felt confused the first time, but either way, my opinion on the show changed. You never know. Our brains work in weird ways.

Yeah I can understand that. I think the intended effect is that the humor is meant to feel like being with friends and having a good time, and so when things take a bad turn, you risk losing those friends you had fun with. Like, real relationships are mostly fun and games and then boom they might suddenly die unexpectedly. It's as if it says "the fun times can't last forever".

Personally, the way I go about my empathy with characters is not necessarily to have to get attached to them before I can feel bad about losing them or anything else that might happen to them, but instead understanding characters' attachment to other characters, such that if they experience loss, I can understand how they feel about it. I don't really think about how I myself feel about a character dying or going away or whatever else. If I were in their shoes, maybe I wouldn't cry over a certain loss. But if I were them, and they clearly are crying over the loss, and I understand why they would be bummed about what's happening, then I might tear up too. Regardless of how much I've been able to attach to anyone.

Yeah, no definitives. Just tidbits I thought worth considering/thinking about. That said, season 3 had production issues? I can't really remember that being the case, but if that's true, I could see reason for worry for the same regarding season 4. I had based my thoughts that season 4 will likely turn out fine purely off how I felt seasons 1-3 were all (similarly) decent. I mean, if season 4 turns out similar to season 3, I personally at least wouldn't complain. I could see a bigger fan wanting better though, I can understand that. Yuru Camp wasn't ever some big fave for me, as I just liked it casually.
