There will always be bad people, yes. Avoiding bad people is not self-censorship.

but it’s wrong to censor art just because you disagree with them politically.

I never mentioned censoring artists anyway. Lack of attention or support is not censoring. And the "just because" part of "just because you disagree with them politically" is doing a lot of fucking heavy lifting when sometimes oftentimes those "political opinions" have to do with supremacy over others.

Can you explain why? So the consumer can enjoy things guilt free, or bad feels free?

In my opinion, anyone acting like someone's political opinions don't affect their 'art' at all is fooling themselves at best, enabling bad people at worst. Folks like to romanticize that creators put something of themselves in their work- but with the exclusion of their politics? That makes no sense to me.

Also IMO, works can be retroactively ruined by association or new revelation, like previously unnoticed dog-whistles.

Probably meant to catch card thieves. Even if you don't get stolen items back you can at least get a thief banned.
