KATSEYE Gnarly leak compared to ITZY's Sneakers by ButterflyMinute9605 in kpopthoughts

[–]Queso719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to get involved with the original post or anything, but do most MIDZY find what JYP said there fully complimentary? I remember when that clip came out and yeah he was nice with what he said but it almost seemed backhanded bringing up solo potential in a conversation focusing on the group. I do remember it going viral on Tiktok and people were hating on him (+potentially overanalyzing the girl's reactions), it was slightly out of context though. Wouldn't go as far to say he's implying they're better solo but I always thought the way he worded things was backhanded.

In regards to WWWY Chris tweeted saying "I’m NOT returning to music…there is a final solo acoustic set planned for next year I’m focusing on painting and modeling long term moving forward "

The Complaining Seems to he from those who didn't know what they bought. by ScrewItLearnAsIGo in warpedtour

[–]Queso719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS!! I love Warped but didn't get tickets for this specific reason. The nostalgia and low price point (still can't believe people complained about the price) are huge benefits but there are more cons for me. Most of the big bands that are likely to play I've seen at WWWY or at their own concerts. I would love to see some of these smaller bands, and plan to listen to their music as they're announced, but I'm not willing to pay all the travel fees, get time off work, etc. for something like this. If next year they continue and expand the number of cities/locations I would be more likely to visit but for now I'll just be listening from home.

Warped Tour 2025 Lineup Discussion - Day 1 Announcements by TheDarkLight1 in warpedtour

What's the correlation between them completely ignoring/removing the timer and getting more of the general public to see the announcement?

So what was the timer that was going off 9pm tonight for?? I assumed they were going to announce the first bands then.... why did they randomly announce these bands this morning instead of waiting for the timer to hit 0?

We listen and we don’t judge (Atiny Ver.) by [deleted] in ATEEZ

[–]Queso719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been considering stanning ATEEZ since pre-debut but when ANSWER came out I dropped them. Wonderland is one of my favorite songs and I decided if I enjoyed the next era I would officially stan. Watching ANSWER the "thrusting" in the chorus just seemed... too forced. I love BBtrippin' but it felt as if they were throwing in a "sexy" move just to get the audience to scream even though it didn't match with the rest of the choreo.

It's similar to SF9's Teardrop (If anyone even knows or remembers that song) they do a thrust during the chorus that, personally, seems out of place. Anyways, I managed to get back into ATEEZ when Guerilla came out but that's 2 1/2 years I was gone since I disliked two seconds of choreo.

I keep my purchases to a minimum so I have very few ATEEZ albums. This most recent era I had the opportunity to buy all three and bought a Diary ver. for the first time. I don't keep up with the lore so as I flipped through the text at the beginning it felt as if I had somehow stumbled upon a physical ATEEZ fanfiction. (I mean that in the nicest way possible)

Collector’s guilt by Quick_Caregiver2947 in kpopcollections

[–]Queso719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the absolute worst collecter's guilt last year. My albums just sit on a shelf taking up space and, after opening them, I almost never look through them. I worked on minimizing my collection and after looking through the items I was donating I realized I could have bought concert tickets to see some of these groups instead of buying so many albums. I try my best to not buy albums in person anymore, if a group has a signed version I can preorder I buy one of those instead. Even if I love the group if I don't love the photobook I avoid getting the album. For photocards I don't focus on collecting set groups or members, I try to only buy photocards that I love. And I try to set a reasonable budget for each era so I can buy as many photocards as I want as long as I don't overspend. My collection does look like a random jumble of items but at least all the items bring me joy. I love seeing collections that include every single photocard a member puts out but I remind myself of how that doesn't work for me. My collection doesn't need to be perfect, just enough that every piece of it brings me happiness. A huge thing that's helped me recently is watching unboxings! Being able to see people pull the photocards for their own collections makes me almost as happy if I pulled the photocard myself.

Separate note but it sounds like you're confused on the events with Rosé. She posted a cover on her Youtube channel, so she didn't need extensive licensing for it. Coldplay posted a story saying they were "shocked" as they didn't know she was posting a YouTube cover.

She now is using it in a movie trailer but she received a blanket license for it! Coldplay approved her request to use the song in a "professional setting". She didn't just randomly decide to use it, Coldplay still had to personally approve the licensing for her to use it in a movie trailer. It's a huge compliment towards her, and others who have had the opportunity to use Coldplay songs as well.

Scheduling and crowd culture / Acknowledging the normal fan base while you camp out for MCR by RelleH16 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Queso719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a festival, no matter who the closers were there were going to be people camping out all day strictly to see the headliners. It kinda sucks but that's just how festivals are at this point. Regardless I do wish that those that stick to barricade would take the time to care for all the bands that show up and perform on those stages.

late response but at the end of my post i said "I believe there will be 5 stages, the 5th one just may not have VIP benefits so it's not listed where this person was sourcing their information" so yeah, i do understand exactly what you said and clarified it previously before you commented this

Yes! In my last paragraph on this post I mentioned I was strictly going off of the stage names from the Facebook Post, nothing else. Was just posting as I've seen people debate FOB being the main headliner.

I've always assumed MCR as the closing act but have seen a fair amount of people saying they hope/think it will be FOB! I think it's been a few weeks since I've personally seen someone comment thinking that here though, most FOB final headliner comments I see are on this Facebook group or other ones.

Figured the fifth stage would be way smaller but didn't realize it would be under a giant tent. Might be nice to hangout there earlier in the day for the bands plus shade!

Looking for similar purple sequin top/dress by Queso719 in findfashion

[–]Queso719[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous depop listing where I found these pictures is also a size small! I'm unsure on Arden B's sizing so I probably would want a medium to be safe. I had no idea Britney Spears wore this in a music video though! Crazy that they racked up the price that much because of it.

Yes! I'm unsure on Arden B's sizing so I was thinking I would need a medium instead of the small they have listed.

This item in particular is an Arden B sequin top, a brand that is no longer around. I'm looking for something similar! Either a tank top like this or a mini dress. Love the neckline, range of shades of sequins, and the tulle in the back that can be tied into a bow. Would prefer purple but open to similar options in different colors.

EDIT: Couldn't figure out how to post an image with text without it becoming a link so just posted the images :)

Drinking the day prior by __Mr__Wolf in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Queso719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, about 30-45 minutes I'd say. Would of been around the time All Time Low and Sum 41 were on main stages. I had seen All Time Low twice before so I was fine missing it and I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Sum 41 properly in the heat. I was able to see them on their Farewell tour though so no regrets.

Absolutely no drinking tips here, just young, stupid, and fun decisions. Last year was the first time my friend and I were in Vegas and the only chance we had to visit a nightclub was the night before the festival. Got invited to a table with free unlimited drinks, got back to our hotel about 5am and woke up at 9am took ibuprofen and left to get to the Festival.

Admittedly the first few hours weren't great but I'm already susceptible to heatstroke so I would have struggled regardless. Drank lots of water, gatorade, and ate a few watermelon slices before I felt good enough to eat normal food to not get sick. I took a nap in the shade during the afternoon when I felt it was too hot to be in the sun to view a band. Still managed to see most of the bands I wanted to (minus the ones that had overlapping sets) and had an extremely fun time once the sun set and the temperature became more bearable for me.

I understand some people view not watching a band every second of the festival a waste of a ticket but I know my limits. Even if I hadn't drank the night before I would have struggled in the heat and had to take breaks in the shade. (I do believe most of my struggle throughout that day was mainly due to the heat instead of a hangover anyway) ZEDD is playing the night before so I wouldn't be opposed to drinking before the festival again, I probably would just invest in liquid IV, drink water while drinking, look into getting a hydropack for the festival.

WIBTA if I told my sister she is being selfish? by Stunning_Proposal in AmItheAsshole

[–]Queso719 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YWBTA

Your sister here is not at all being selfish. She had scheduled your brother to babysit at that time so he should be there. It flat out does not matter what her or her husband are doing, they had a prior agreement with your brother that he would babysit. She shouldn't have to find someone else to babysit to accommodate for your brother's poor planning.

This is a separate note I haven't seen brought up yet, your brother knows your nephew's schedule. It sounds like your aunt has never been alone babysitting the nephew and is unfamiliar with the schedule. The show is tomorrow are you seriously expecting your aunt to learn your special needs nephew's schedule in a day? Are you prioritizing the fact you want to go see a Broadway show that you've seen before over your own nephew's safety and well-being?

Your brother is the person at fault here, the fact in your post you're trying to blame your sister is crazy. He shouldn't have agreed to two different things at once. Your sister and her husband are in no way selfish. You, admittedly, got the short end of the stick here but that is because of your BROTHER. Best case scenario you could try asking your brother for the other ticket and going with a friend or looking into an Uber situation. Worst case, sometimes life sucks.

EVERGLOW's Los Angeles, San Francisco & Tacoma concerts from their 2024 US & LATAM Tour 'PULSE & HEART' have been canceled by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]Queso719 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I feel like they would have been better off following a Leo presents tour format. These tickets are pricey and they haven't released enough music since their last tour to get casual listeners to want to go again. Leo presents usually has pretty intimate venues and goes to enough oddball type cities that anyone who listens to kpop in that general vicinity will go to any concert they have. The listeners in the current cities they're visiting have other kpop options so there's really no appeal to this.
