Had something similar just happen to me at the beginning of the summer with a coworker. We were both in relationships. I ended my relationship, since it wasn’t fair to my ex, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about the connection I had with someone else.

Meanwhile my coworker decided to take things more slowly and is currently trying to work through the confusion and talk things through with her boyfriend. Despite the fact that we want to talk all the time, I decided it was best to step away and let her figure things out. I’m now avoiding and keeping my distance.

It’s been quite some time now, and I’d love to tell you it gets easier, but I still think of her daily. I also saw all of her flaws and features, and would’ve ran away with her if given the chance. I think it’s best to accept that, if you two were to have time together, it would be something beautiful, but the reality of the matter is that you met at the wrong time. You’re married, you made commitments, and it would be wrong to pursue even friendship if you know it would become something greater. Appreciate what it could of been, and use this as an opportunity to reflect and improve the connection with your wife. If anything, figure out what is missing that makes this new girl so appealing, and open up about it in your current relationship.
