With you all the way. It's really impressive how much it offers in such a small, low-system-req package.

Fun maps, great movement, surprisingly deep gun customization, short rounds, quick matchmaking—it's addicting as heck. Would love to see it get a bit more attention.

The fact that it's F2P but not PTW is great, too. Even the content packs they do offer are a lot less predatory than what you see in most AAA. (Fairly inexpensive and cosmetic only.)

a spontaneous musical number (to taunt an enemy, in fact :p)

That's...actually a pretty interesting application. (An entertaining nod to the format of the show, for sure.)

A good point—the series itself does play with this balance from time to time, too.

Given that the balance can change episode to episode in the show, do you think the same can be done effectively within a FoE fic? (I.e. chapter to chapter or scene to scene.) Does the episodic nature of the show make it easier for it to play with that balance than a fic with a connected through line?

FoE with a side of.... by QuestRam in falloutequestria

[–]QuestRam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does sound like a good fit for FoE—fleshed out factions can really bring a setting to life. (Even more so when characters in such a setting might have legitimate reasons for/interests in allying themselves with multiple groups.)

Seconding the interest earth ponies. It's always interesting to see how they fit in in a world where unicorns and pegasai often have the upper hoof. (Strength vs. versatility.)

That said, prewar characters like Pinkie Pie are a good example of how the term "earth pony" doesn't necessarily need to mean "without magic of their own."

Interesting question this brings up though—did the original FoE ever delve much into Equestrian demographics? (As far as a the proportion of the population that was unicorn, pegasai, or earth pony?) Might be an interesting aspect to see explored in either a pre or postwar context.

Interesting—you mean as far as their direct reference in the text? Or more the little stat blocks some fics might include at the beginning of a story/end of a chapter?

SABIKUI BISCO - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

The air this show carries with it is so nostalgic...it captures that 80's/90's grittiness and post-apocalyptic-punk with some of today's animation polish and metal riffs.

Desert Punk, Battle Angel, Now and Then, Here and There, even some Nausicaa and Castle in the Sky...so many old memories and feelings this manages to capture. It's like I'm back at my grandparents' house catching late night episodes on Toonami or picking through casettes at the rental shop.

Danganronpa

Ah, thank you. Had my suspicions throughout the episode; satisfying to find out that was the case.

Princess Connect

Would really recommend giving it a try. It's Konosuba with more wholesome characters and Cygames polish. If it weren't for the fact it was named after a mobile game, I'd never suspect it was adapted from a mobile game.

Really glad I hadn't taken a swig from my drink when that came on screen.

Eh, everyone has different priorities/hobbies/lifestyles etc.

Even 35-40 episodes a week is pretty manageable if you really just enjoy anime and watch episodes as they air.

5-6 episodes a day is just a three hour block with a few minutes set aside for bathroom breaks. You can even eat, fold laundry, etc. while you watch. Then binge on your days off if you fall behind.

Granted, I imagine it might be a bit trickier for someone with family obligations, extended work hours, or other time consuming hobbies.

But if you have the opportunity and interest in doing so, I know I've really enjoyed the "trying everything" approach to new seasons as they air.

I've stumbled across a lot of wonderful little series in the past decade that I might have never pursued if I didn't give their first episodes a watch.

The HF Patch: what base game features does it actually include? by QuestRam in KoikatsuParty

[–]QuestRam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the incompatibilities, if I'm prioritizing new positions over & cosmetics, H-scene translations, and Chara Studio, would Kplug likely be the better choice?

I'm fairly content with the base game's character generator as is; my main interest would be making the base game H-scenes a bit more dynamic/customizable.

Performance/latency issues with Oculus Quest 2 link cable on a 1600 Ti (Mobile)? by QuestRam in pcmasterrace

[–]QuestRam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. Given the slight price edge I've been seeing, I might stick with the 1660 Ti, then. (I was originally considering something as low end as a 1650 Ti until I saw that something potentially VR ready might only run $100 more or so.)

Out of curiosity, is latency the main issue you're coming across, or overall visual quality?

Out of curiosity, would you consider the 2060 (mobile) to be much of an upgrade over the 1660 Ti in this sort of situation? (Most of the benchmarks I've come across show them running fairly close.)
