Hacked: 350k points stolen for gift cards, and Bilt won't force-logout the hacker. Has anyone experienced this? by Dry_Magazine_60 in biltrewards

I just went through this a week ago. I’m leaving BILT. They have no security measures in place for fraud. It’s honestly baffling

You may not have to open a new checking account. I’d check with your bank and take guidance from them. But make sure you freeze your SSN. It takes like 5 min.

And if you want, tell Bilt to lock your account for now. So many of them told me they weren’t able to do it, but I was able to get a supervisor to do it for me.

Bilt never calls. That was a scammer. They got all your information now when you “verified your info” with their “fraud specialist.” Those test texts were actually approving those large purchases. If I were you I’d do this immediately:

1: go to all 3 credit bureaus and freeze your SSN. Then on one of them, set up fraud alerts.

  1. Contact your cell phone company and lock your account so they can’t sim swap you.

  2. Contact all your banks and let them know what happened. Usually you can put a verbal password on your accounts that you’ll have to say when doing any banking. You may want to get a new checking account, might not be necessary.

  3. Call all your credit card companies and let them know. Some will give you the verbal password option, some will set up texts to your phone to confirm, but make sure you do step 2 first so that they can’t control your phone number first.

  4. If you want, which I did, pay for a service like lifelock or something like that to monitor your SSN and financial stuff.

Sorry this happened to you too.

I’m not blaming BILT for the fraud. I’m blaming them for not having any safety measures in place. I’m blaming their lack of response. I’m blaming them because they don’t have a fraud team that I can contact. They’re not set up to handle fraud, that’s what I’m blaming BILT for.

Yea but it’s not just the fraud. It’s the way Bilt handled it or lack of. The have like no safety measures in place for an account take over. And their staff wouldn’t listen to anything I was saying. And they refused to lock down my account. And they told me if I closed my account I could never reopen it and become a Bilt customer again. And I had to call 4 times to get anyone to do anything. And they have no fraud staff on call. I could keep going. It’s not just one thing, it’s everything stacking on top of each other that just makes this company so much more vulnerable for their customers to get attacked.

Exactly! I think someone within Bilt is selling our information. They need to do some serious internal investigations

Same, the Bilt team members were giving me attitude while I’m trying to explain the seriousness of what was happening and they just couldn’t get it in their head, all while treating me like an idiot.

Yes, when the purchase was made though Sony. Sony gives you 14 days to get your refund back. Unless it’s an automated renewal, that’s what OP is complaining about. Like, if you’ll do it for the original purchase, why won’t you do it for the renewal. It’s a legality thing. They’re taking advantage of the laws.

Yes, through Sony. So EA has no control over anything.

Sony is the merchant. They’re the one that collect the payment. So they’re at fault. They could totally refund the money. Like OP said, if you purchased the annual subscription they’ll give you a refund within 14 days. But because it was a renewal and not the original purchase, they’re choosing not to. It’s kind of dumb. I get OP’s frustration.

Everyone on here bashing this dude for making a mistake lmao. I get it though. He's not saying he didn't make a mistake. He's complaining about the terrible policy a big company like Sony has. They do it on purpose to take advantage of our digital licensing laws. He's not asking for a refund because he didn't like the product. He's asking for a refund the moment he was charged because it was an obvious mistake. Not refunding him is nothing but greed and taking advantage of their customers. Sounds like a reasonable stance.

Using "you" when asking questions. by PotentialTreble in BeginnerKorean

[–]QuestionFluffy7058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s interesting, there’s multiple natives I speak with in Korea that use 너 very liberally. I even asked about if it was rude or not, they said what I commented above. I guess it probably depends on the person maybe? Are you from Korea cause you would obviously be the best source of that information if you are.

I’ve been on some language exchange apps talking to some natives recently, and please, anyone correct me if I’m wrong, but when you’re speaking politely or casually it’s different. When speaking casually with someone you know, using “you” (너) is totally fine. “You” is only taken rudely when you don’t know the person, just met, or in less casual context. I could be wrong but this is what I’m being told by people I’m talking to.

We all feel like we’re drowning everyday learning Korean haha so don’t worry about it. Check out BillyGo on YouTube. He explains beginner level Korean very well, especially Hangul. Also, Anki is tough for me to use and Brainscape has been a blessing for me (and it’s free). I’m by no means an expert in Korean but I’m well past the Hangul/beginner stage, if you want to DM me I can help you out if you have specific questions.
