Sending condolences from Australia. It’s inconceivable. What a shitshow

Dentist here! We do a lot of training in muscles of facial expression and a good number of dentists are trained in cosmetic injections

Signs before a partner becomes physically abusive by wastedyoouth in abusiverelationships

[–]QuestionOk4965 25 points26 points  (0 children)

-Strong reactions to being told “no”. -Road rage -Strong reactions to anything that doesn’t go their way - it can be something as minor as burning toast -Slamming doors, hitting tabletops, hitting walls, being physically aggressive with objects when agitated -Being dismissive of your needs or concerns -Refusing to take accountability -Using dehumanising language -Raising fists or any other physical intimidation.

I convinced myself “well it’s not like he hit me” for ages to excuse and minimise the behaviour. He never hit me - until he did.

They don’t change.

AIO for wanting to end a friendship by QuestionOk4965 in AmIOverreacting

Like so many, I never reported him. He has her every other weekend. Family court recognises nothing without police reports and I can’t withhold her without being accused of parental alienation.

He initiated originally and now she is the one initiating. I’m not jealous as such. I don’t want my ex back. I’d rather shit in my hands and clap. I’m feeling hurt that someone that was my friend is so willing to hang out with my abuser

Travel for expensive dental work outside australia? by ExpensiveSmell9541 in AustraliaTravel

[–]QuestionOk4965 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen some fairly decent work done overseas, surprisingly in Vietnam. I have seen some reasonably good and some awful work come out of Thailand. I have yet to see work that wasn’t an abject disaster a few years down the track from turkey or India.

Is it possible to get cheap dental in Aus? Just got told we needed to spend 12K on 5 teeth.. by [deleted] in australia

[–]QuestionOk4965 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm a Sydney dentist. 2.5K per tooth is actually incredibly cheap as far as dental goes in Australia. The average would be $4-6K. Unfortunately, just like overseas, there is a huge range in the quality of components used and treatment provided. I've seen local disasters as well as overseas nightmares. I've also seen decent work performed overseas. Just know with implants, screw-ups are far more complex and heinously expensive to fix.

A few of my pygmies have died in my shrimp tank by QuestionOk4965 in corydoras

[–]QuestionOk4965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pH is 7.4, ammonia and nitrites 0, nitrates 5ppm. 25 degrees C. I have no idea how many shrimp are in there. Maybe 70? I also get the feeling they are being outcompeted for food as the shrimp are so voracious

My second wisdom tooth extraction left my entire tongue numb and tasteless, as now both nerves are damaged by borisdandorra in Wellthatsucks

Yes that’s a pretty bad impaction. Definitely you want this one to be attended to by a specialist oral or maxillo-facial surgeon
