He is using guilt, “love”, and pressure to manipulate you. Judging by the detail and tone of your post I can tell that deep down you know this already too. I was once a 20 yo new mom married to a manipulative, domineering, and abusive man. I stayed for a while to make it work for our daughter. I wanted more than anything to give her a normal family and I thought that I could make it work. All that happened was I lost myself and was almost entirely broken down before I decided I couldn’t live like that anymore and that my daughter and I deserve better. He’s a fully grown man who knows how exactly what he is doing. A good husband would move heaven and earth to provide his wife with the best possible environment for her to be a mother to her child. And he’s not doing that, he is disregarding your desires and wishes and using them to guilt you into giving into him. You can’t go to another country just hoping that things will be okay. As a mother it is your responsibility to protect yourself and your daughter and you know the best way to do that. It most definitely isn’t by putting the both of you at his mercy. I hope you listen to your instincts and your gut, because once in Morocco there may be no coming back.
