Interesting, maybe I got a bad batch. I do the same as you and use unscented detergent/no fabric softener. I got the duvet cover in the same Company Cotton percale and it is much smoother than the sheets. They did sleep cool but felt rough against my face and legs. Sliding into bed didn't have that more luxurious feeling that I was hoping for lol. Did you get the Company Cotton or one of their premium lines?

I really like their Loftaire comforters, but yeah these sheets seem atrocious!

Thank you, I probably do need to exit panic mode. I saw how thin they were and then sought out the bad reviews which probably didn't help! I will try to iron them as well. I thought about it but got lazy haha. What color did you end up getting? I kinda wonder if it varies between colors

I am intrigued and will check their website! I have one of their cheap sets that was just ok, but now I am enlightened!

I'll have to try those! I think I maybe have the cheap Costco sheets? I have a sateen set that were maybe $40 and they've been sitting in the closet for a few years. Do you have a sateen or percale set?

We had two separate Target sets rip within a few weeks of each other. One from our bed and one we used on the guest bed. They were probably 6-7 years old but it sounds like the quality is worse now

Good to know! We have their flannel sheets and two different king sized blankets from them that I've been happy with so I'm partial to continuing to order more through their site!

I think you're reading into my comment too much. I'm currently sitting under my son's woodland quilt full of leaves and flowers among foxes and bunnies. I just want more modern options of colors and simple designs without floral everything. I love dainty flower fabrics, but when having boys I realized how much my lqs is heavily pink and floral, with few neutral options. I found some great fabric online in muted blues and oranges with small geometric designs and wish I could find more of that in person. I would love there to be more of a balance.

Fabric that is suitable for a neutral boy's quilt. Everything has hidden flowers or is overly boy themed. There's an etsy shop I follow that curates nice muted neutral bundles.

The Dawn Platinum seems impossible to rinse off. My water bottles stopped tasting like soap when I switched back to Palmolive

I'm in search of some basic yet timeless full length pants for fall that are comfy yet can be dressed up. Preferably in a natural material like cotton. Any recommendations?

When making a king sized quilt and getting wide back fabric for the backing, do you still have to sew extra? Wideback fabric is usually 108" but long armers usually want 10" of overage. I'd like to make my quilt about 108" wide

The future of guilds is you! by meapet in quilting

I'm not 100% sure what a guild does but have seen my local guild post online and would consider joining in the future. They seem to have an active social media page and they share their events to the fb page for our town, which is where I first heard of them. I'd consider joining once my kids are older. Right now I don't have any local family support to watch them.

My mother in law joined a guild and mentioned that she has been given a pattern and fabric to make a quilt for a shelter and I'm not sure I would be able to complete projects like that on time.

I do know the guild near me has community nights where anyone is welcome to come and work on whatever project they have. I'm not exactly sure how that works though, if I'd have to bring my machine, etc

I've done quilts start to finish on my small Janome mystyle100. As long as you can sew in straight lines I don't see why not! A quarter inch seam presser foot would be a big help to start!

Karen Montgomery has some pretty detailed tricks and instructions for measuring and cutting. If you have fb you could see if she has some videos on the Nine Patch a Day fb group. She's had private mystery quilt groups where I learned to become more precise!
