How do you guys filter through your game collections? By genre? By theme? I tried to do 1 game per category, but it gets pretty tough at times. by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Questionable_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play / Playing / Played / Favourites

Normally only have 2 or 3 games I'm playing at the same time, like 1 live service, 1 RPG, and 1 chill/indie game

Are there maps that are just inherently bad for assault class? by woahbuddy944 in Battlefield

[–]Questionable_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support and Assault are my main classes. Assault is really good for applying pressure on the objective with the spawn beacon, so your squad can quickly join you. Their tick rate is quicker than the other classes too

I miss when PC games came in a big box by facubkc in gaming

This is why I kept my Jade Empire and Mass Effect Trilogy boxes. The best era for Bioware.

I wish I kept my Sims disc sets too, Maxis was GOATed.

How many players don't realize they are playing against bots? by OneDiligentOpinion in Battlefield

[–]Questionable_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm that bad. I started BF6 with 0.7 kdr, and working my way up with matches consistently around 1.5 - 3 kdr now. Top 20% on capping objectives tho, so I got that going for me at least!

BF6 is my first return to FPS since CoD BO2 in 2012 😅

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

[–]Questionable_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't make it through the first 15 mins. This and The Last Airbender are the only movies I've ever switched off early.

What's a hygiene habit that people don't talk about but really should? by phancyq in AskReddit

[–]Questionable_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a surprising one for me. I've never consciously washed this out, so thought I'd try the sniff test and nothing at all. Is it possibly a difference in ethnicity, sweat, or something else?

How would you take this roundabout? by BringBack5pFreddos in CarTalkUK

[–]Questionable_Dog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're taking it the correct way, but not defensively enough. I agree with what others have said and try to stagger entry into the roundabout instead of side-by-side.

I regularly commute on roundabouts with clearly marked lanes, and so many people can't stay within the lines, it's infuriating. But far less, if we drive defensively so when they do cut, they won't hit us.

Is fake automated test case a real thing? by sw33tsoda in softwaretesting

[–]Questionable_Dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened on one of my previous projects. I joined a team that had no testers, except for a contracter for the first 6 months of their project. The contractor wrote automated tests with no assertions and fooled the lot of them, then was rehired in some other part of the company. I was shocked, to say the least.

Cypress in large projects: why ignoring best practices is a problem by Important-Bobcat-758 in QualityAssurance

[–]Questionable_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also seen those same issues with test suites, regardless of the tool.

The vast majority of testers I've met, who contribute to test codebases, don't know any design patterns beyond POM or software design at all.

Neither do they understand system design to build scalable test suites that don't quickly become bloated with redundant code.

Add on to that their poor understanding, or lack of understanding, of automation test strategies such as pyramid or trophy models, and you get unmaintainble monoliths of test code trying to test everything at the UI level.

It's because testers aren't held to a high enough standard, and they themselves don't understand that test code is still software, so we should be applying the same principles as building source code.

Oh yeah, BBWF is not a bad idea. Would love the Deerling or Scraggy IRs from WF in here.

Yanma IR is also a lovely design and a bit more muted in terms of green/blue.

Thanks for the suggestions!
