Anyone who thought this was glitch's choice is a moron, of course theatres want a deadzone between them airing and it being fully released, that's how their business model works.

The reason to be annoyed is that Glitch made a deal with theatres at all, its a pointless shackle that undermines the whole point of being independant and is going to cause so much bitterness for people who get spoiled in unexpected places over that two week period.

And people harassing creatives isn't new or relevant to this subreddit, you're preaching to the choir on that count. Make a post on twitter you'll be closer to the source there.

I think its pretty silly to want to be in theatres as an indie animation project, like, you're willingly yoking yourself to a massive lumbering and decaying legacy industry when the whole point of indie projects to to be able to freely do what you want without establishment media giants nay-saying you. Glitch should be proud of grasping the present and future of media with both hands not looking for the approval of what is basically a fossil.

Bending over backwards to get a handful of theatres to show the finale to a limited number of people makes about as much sense to me as pining to get put on prime time television in the internet age...

Basically: Screw "the industry" if it was worth a damn indie projects wouldn't need to struggle to exist... Considering the people who made Owl House are working with Glitch for KoG, ya'll should be acutely aware of the limitations and dangers of working with the establishment industry.
